Thomas “Tom” Argel Brown
Thomas “Tom” Argel Brown, of Kennewick, WA, passed away at the age of 67 on Thursday, April 14, 2016 at the Tri-Cities Chaplaincy, after succumbing to his battle with Pulmonary Fibrosis.
Tom was born to Argel
and Elizabeth Brown on September 4, 1948 in Bay Shore, NY, who preceded him in
death. He met Dolores McIntosh while in
submarine school in Saratoga Springs, NY, and they married soon after. Dolores “Dee” passed away in October of 2015,
just one day shy of their 46th wedding anniversary. Tom and Dee had two children. His daughter, Terra Lynn Walsh and her
husband, Aaron Walsh of Port Orchard, WA, gave Tom his only granddaughter,
Kirsty Walsh Pinchuk, of Moscow, ID.
Kirsty and her husband Ilya are expecting Tom’s first Great Grandchild
later this year. Tom’s son, Scott Thomas Brown and his wife, Brandy (Cain)
Brown of West Richland, WA, gave Tom two grandsons, Caleb Thomas Brown and
Joshua Scott Brown. Two brothers, James
“Jimmy” (JoAnn) Brown of West Islip, NY, and Douglas “Doug” Brown (Georgette)
of Jensen Beach, FL., and their families also survive Tom.
Tom loved being outdoors. Fishing, Hunting, playing golf, riding quads, and watching his grandchildren’s sporting events brought him great pleasure.
Tom served 24 years in the US Navy, as a submariner, and retired as Master Chief. After “retirement”, he went on to begin a second career at Hanford Nuclear Facility. Tom officially retired from work in 2014.
Viewing will be held from 4:00pm-8:00pm on Monday, April 18 at Events at Sunset in Richland. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 am, Tuesday, April 19 at Events at Sunset, 915 Bypass Hwy, Richland, WA. Burial will follow at Sunset Gardens in Richland.
Donations in lieu of flowers may be made to the American Lung Association.
