From Richland, WA | Born in Comfort, TX

Nichole Masterman

Nichole Sherry Masterman, 31 years old of Richland, WA passed away in her sleep Sunday, August 14th 2016 after many years of suffering due to painful, debilitating neurological disease.

Nichole was born on June 8, 1985 in Comfort, Texas, the daughter of Raymond & Evelyn (Clifford) Masterman, both born in England, UK. Her education and ability to work were cut short by her illness.  When she was able work, she was a secretary in the construction industry.

Nichole loved her nephews very much and dreamed of one day being a mother, even if it meant adopting. The closest she came was to sponsor a child in Bangladesh through Compassion International. Nichole loved pretty things and anything purple. She adored animals, especially her Yorkshire Terrier and faithful companion, Harley. Had her health allowed it, she would have been actively involved in causes like saving seals, whales & dolphins and children living in poverty. She donated to many causes to help animals and children in need, in the hope that her small contribution would make a difference. She dreamed about the day she would be well enough to volunteer at animal shelters, foster animals, take cooking and art lessons. She was extremely spiritual and interested in nature, history, evolution and the origins of religion as well as current events.

Preceding Nichole in death are Paternal Great-Grandmother Ada May and Uncle John Clifford. Nichole was the beloved daughter of Evelyn & Raymond Masterman, sister of Victoria (Ian) Bitner and Karen (Peter) Buck. Nichole is also survived by nephews Zachary, Ryan, Jacob & Liam Bitner, and Robert & Michael Buck, Grandmothers Irene Clifford and Phyllis Philps, Uncles Edward Clifford, & William Philps, and Aunt Penny (Philps) Baker .

A private family viewing was held at Einan’s at Sunset, 915 Bypass Highway, Richland. Nichole will be cremated and, in accordance with her wishes for “no fuss”, no public services will be held at this time. A Celebration of Life may be planned in the near future.

Donations in her memory, to causes she was passionate about, would be greatly appreciated. Some suggestions are:  The Humane Society (humanesociety.org), Marine Connection (marine connection.org), Save the Children (savethechildren.org) and Compassion International (compassion.com).

Nichole, we will always carry your memory in our hearts. You had a beautiful soul, but your illness would not set you free to do what you wanted to do, which was to help save the world.

Now I lay you down to sleep
Without you here my heart does weep.

You are gone but I’m still here
All alone with my tears.

And if I should die before dawn comes
Lord bring us back together as one. Amen

Good night and God bless you Nichole. We love you.
