Robert Paul Marshall

– Robert Paul Marshall, longtime resident of Richland, Washington, peacefully went to be with his Lord in Heaven on February 03, 2016. His journey to Heaven began last May when he was diagnosed with pancreatic cancer.  During his treatment at Virginia Mason Hospital he maintained his strong faith, had a positive attitude and kept his trademark sense of humor. Throughout his illness he had the unwavering support and unconditional love of Mary, his devoted wife of 59 years, who was by his side every day during his illness. Memorial services will be held on Thursday, February 11, 2016 at 1:00 at the Richland Baptist Church with Rev. Stanley Hughes officiating. Bob was born December 26th, 1930, to Paul Peter Marshall and Aurelia Leibsch. He attended the University of Detroit and received his B.S. degree in Chemical-Metallurgical Engineering earning Tau Beta Pi honors. He had a long and respected career as engineer/Project/Program Manager in the Nuclear Industry working for DuPont at the Savannah River Site, and Battelle at Hanford and at Pantex.  After his “retirement” he and Mary opened a coffee shop in Amarillo Texas where they spent countless hours as baristas and coffee ambassadors with the shop still being run by the family. Bob saw retirement as an opportunity to help others which he accomplished by serving in numerous organizations.  As a longstanding and dedicated member of Richland Baptist Church, he served the church in many ways, including teaching Sunday school, as deacon,  Sunday School Director, on staff as Education Minister, Building Expansion Project Chair, and on the personnel search committees to name a few.   He also served on the Golden Gate Seminary advisory group, the Board of New Orleans Baptist Seminary, and the Board of the Emmaus Counseling Center.  Survivors include his wife, Mary Louise Griffin, his son, Robert Paul Marshall Jr and his wife, Terry, of Richland; son, John Andrew (Andy) Marshall, and his wife, Cindy, of Amarillo, TX; and his grandchildren, Brooke White and husband, Tory, of Phoenix, AZ; Cory Marshall and wife, Cherise, of Camas, WA; Stacey Marshall of Portland OR; Kyle Marshall of West Richland; Andrew James (AJ) Marshall and wife  Samantha of Lubbock, TX; and Samantha Olguin of Amarillo, TX.  In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Richland Baptist Church Building Fund or Emmaus Counseling Center, both of Richland WA.
