Hal H. Sutton Jr.

Hal H. Sutton Jr. went to be at home with his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on January 20, 2016 at Canyon Lakes Restorative & Rehabilitation Center in Kennewick, WA. Hal was born on October 31, 1929 in Ben Lomond Arkansas and spent his early years in the little community of Falls Chapel out in the lovely hills and wooded land. Hal served in the army at the very young age of 17 and served for three years. After his service, he worked for a couple of years on the pipelines in Missouri.

In 1954 he met and fell in love with Dozier Sutton, his loving wife of 61 years. Together they moved to Missouri and then Alaska, and in 1959 they moved to Tri-Cities Washington and have made it their home ever since. Hal was so very proud of his family and enjoyed all of the moments they had spent together.

Hal was proud to be a member of Ironworkers Local #14 for 55 years, working on the major dams up and down the Snake and Columbia River. He also worked on some missile sites in North and South Dakota, ending his career at the Hanford nuclear site.

Hal is survived by his wife Dozier A. Sutton; his son; Hal H. Sutton III, (Twila); daughter, Chae Malone (Shane); grandson, Dustin Sutton; granddaughters, Kelty Foster, Winter Sutton, and Ashland Malone; great- grandson Maurice Wright and several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his father, Hal H. Sutton Sr.; his mother, Lucille Sutton, his sisters, Eloise Spicer and Louise Wilson; and brother, James Sutton.

There will be a viewing at Einan’s Event Center at 9:00 a.m. on Monday January 25th, followed by a memorial service at South Hills Church at 3700 W. 27th Ave. Kennewick at 11:00 a.m. His final resting place will be at Sunset Memorial Gardens in Richland WA.
