Natividad
Tames Jr, 63 of Kennewick, WA, died at home January 30th, 2016. He was born
March 31st, 1952 in Pasco, WA. He grew up and attended school in Burbank, WA.,
and was married on November 14th, 1970 to Janis Cook in Richland, WA., for 42
years. He was a lifelong resident of the Tri-Cities, and worked for over 30
years as a warehouse supervisor for Twin City Foods in Kennewick, where he
retired in 2011.
Junior never met a stranger that didn't leave as a friend. He was very much a
"car guy", we stopped counting after he bought his hundredth car in
1991. He was a member of Ye Olde Car Club of the Tri-Cities, and showed every
year at Cool Desert Nights in Richland, where he won the Fire Department Choice
in 2013 for his 1955 Chevy truck. He loved watching Westerns, going camping,
and was a lifelong Seahawks fan. He was a member of First Baptist Church of
Richland, and later, a member of the Kennewick Baptist Church. Nat met his
current wife, Janis Matheny in 2014, and spent the last year of his life
traveling the Pacific Northwest, Alaska, Hawaii and Utah, spending time with
friends and family.
He was preceded in death by his father, Natividad Tames, and his wife Janis
(Cook) Tames. He is survived by his son, Christian Tames of Richland, WA., his
daughter, Heather Tames and fiancé David Willis of Kennewick, WA., his wife,
Janis Matheny-Tames of Kennewick, and step-children Joelle Jones of Kennewick,
Sean Matheny of Salt Lake City, UT., Kelly Kelley and husband Sonny Kelley of
Kennewick, Emily Jones, Carly Matheny, and 5 grandchildren all of Kennewick,
WA.
A Memorial Service will be held at Kennewick Baptist Church, 2425 W. Albany at 1pm on Friday the 12th, reception to
follow.
