Brett Nelson Anders
Brett Nelson Anders, 54 of Richland, Washington was born August 19, 1961 in Richland, Washington and passed away in his home on July 25, 2016. As a child, Brett started his love for fishing and camping, and loved hanging out with his brother and great friends, Chris, Pat and Les; which usually consisted of getting into trouble. In his free time though, he would spend that picking on his sister.
As Brett grew up, he made the heroic decision in 1980 to serve in the Navy where he spent six years before leaving in hopes of starting a family. Just three years later, on April 14, 1989, he got that wish when he married Tonnya Shane. Tonnya also had a three year old daughter, Amber. So on that day, Brett not only became a husband, but a father as well. If that wasn’t exciting enough, a few short months later on December 7, 1989, Brett welcomed his son, Cody into the world.
With all that excitement, Brett’s love for fishing and camping grew as he shared it with his family, and it soon became a summer tradition.
Brett was also great with his hands. If you gave him wood he would build a memory. For three years he owned his own construction business called Sunshine Roofing and Construction. Although the business didn’t work out to his fullest dreams, he still continued his career in construction, until his departure.
Before Brett passed, he was able to enjoy an even larger family, when he became a grandfather, and as hard as he was, he would spoil them anytime he got the chance.
Brett is left by his children, Cody and Amber. Daughter-in-law, Carissa. Son-in-law, Josh. Grandkids, Casey, 6; Harlee, 4; Alex, 12; and Nathan, 8. Niece and Nephews, Shayla and her husband Gilbert, Walker, Richard, and Philip. As well as a brother Ron, and sister Delora.
A memorial service will be held Thursday, August 18, 2016 at 11:00am at Story Point Community Church at 17 S. Rainer in Kennewick, WA.
