Fay Boyd

Fay Elton Boyd the youngest of seven siblings was born to Ezra and Stella Boyd December 21, 1933 in Fayetteville, Arkansas.  Fay passed away in Richland on May 23rd surrounded by his family.  In 1934, the family started a long journey in a pickup with a house built on the back, settling in Fowler Colorado. Fay entered the Air Force and was stationed in Klamath Falls Oregon where he met Mary Stephens his wife of 56 years. After discharge from the Air Force the Boyd’s relocated to Richland, Washington where Fay was employed at the Hanford site where he was employed for 29 years ending his career in 1994 as a manager in the tank farms.

Fay and Mary enjoyed raising and showing quarter horses, Seattle Mariner Baseball, Seahawks and Gonzaga Basketball.  He especially enjoyed spending time with family and the many trips he and Mary took to Arizona for spring training.  Fay was preceded in death by his father, Ezra Boyd, mother Stella Boyd, brothers Vernon, Kenneth, Sheridan and Willie, granddaughter Caitlin Ford and grandson Travis Pfister.

He leaves behind his beloved wife, Mary R Boyd, his daughter, Cindy Ford (Tim), sons Robert Carroll (Charleen), Doug Johnson (Kathy) and sisters Ruth Cannon and Norma Jean Blodgette, grandchildren Cameron Carroll (Desiree), Casey Carroll (Tawny), Monique Hulse, Josh Pfister (Michelle), Hunter Johnson and Allison  Johnson and five great grandchildren.

Einan’s Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.

Graveside services will be held on June 4, 2016 at 1:00 p.m. at Sunset Gardens off the Bypass in Richland.
