Anna Mae (Dean Cecil) Simmons

Born August 7, 1927 and passed away peacefully on February 9, 2017. She was born in Clarks Grove, Minnesota to John and Thada Dean.  Anna was the oldest of fourteen children.  Anna grew up in Iowa and during WWII.  She and her family traveled to Ogden, Utah and then settled in Richland, WA in 1943 and lived on the Hanford town site. Anna graduated from Columbia High School as a Bomber in 1945. Her family moved to Walla Walla where she met Richard C. Cecil and they married. Anna and Richard moved to Oregon City, OR and then back to Kennewick and eventually to Benton City and then to Richland, WA. She had lived at Guardian Angel in Richland, WA since April 1, 2009.

Anna is survived by two brothers, John and Carl Dean; sisters, Alice, Ruth, Connie, Ginger and Debbie.  She is also survived by her children, Sharon Armstrong, Richard Jr. wife Patricia Cecil; close family friend Carol Wyant; grandchildren, Vicky, Denise, Kathy, Rick, Dustin, Chris and Heather;  great grandchildren, great great-grandson, nieces and nephews, and many wonderful friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents, ex-husband Richard Cecil Sr.; husband,  George Simmons; daughter,  Sandy Sanders and brothers,  Jerry, Don, Benny, Larry, James and Robert Dean.

A Celebration of life will be held on Saturday March 4, 2017 at 2:00PM at the Events at Sunset, 915 Bypass Highway, Richland, WA 99352 (509)-943-1114

In lieu of flowers contributions can be made to the Alzheimer’s Association or to your local Hospice Care facility.
