Jerry Lee Johnson

Think sweetly dear sunrise, for the man I call my husband is shining brightly with you now….

Jerry Lee Johnson, 73, of Pasco, WA, died at 6:55 PM, Friday, February 10, 2017 at Lourdes Medical Center, ICU, Pasco WA.  Jerry was born September 2, 1943 in Ellensburg, Washington, to Edwin and Rachel Johnson.

Jerry passed peacefully in the presence of his lovely devoted wife of 54 years, Deloris and his children, Darren and Dawnette along with grandchildren and many loving family and friends to hold his hands and give their love and blessings to Gods graceful way.

Jerry is survived by his sister Virginia Thompson; and nephew Bill Thompson; nieces Karen Thompson Miller; Lynn Thompson; and Paula Mottice and their respectful families.

Jerry grew up in the Yakima Valley with his parents and sister and at a very charming young age, met the love of his life Deloris Torres from Sunnyside.  There they started a family and new adventure in the Navy.

Jerry had a passion for his favorite horse as a young farm boy.  The stories he would tell about being able to ride that horse anyway he wanted including hanging off the side of it like in a real western movie were inspiring to hear about.

Jerry had a hobby of sketching charcoal drawings as a young man and kind of tucked them away, but I knew they were there to cherish and admired them whenever he showed them off.

Many of you would know that Jerry also enjoyed hunting for ducks and pheasants and he and the boys would have their day out covering the marsh like true hunters.  You know who you are!

Jerry loved everything he experienced in the Navy from 1963 to 1966 where on Whidbey Island, (NASWI); he was kept busy on his toes as an Aerographer stationed at Naval Meteorology Facility. For those not in the know, dad observed and forecasted the weather preparing up-to-date weather maps, issuing weather forecasts and warnings and conducted weather or oceanographic briefings to ensure pilots had a clear path.

Anyone who had the pleasure of a chance meeting or getting to know Jerry better or sharing a beer with him, got to see a genuine man who carried his love for God on his chest and in his heart.  He was kind, gentle and a loving husband, always kissing her goodnight three times with the words…I Love You, God Bless You.  Sharing himself was sometimes tough but you knew of his sweet nature.  Loved by your Father God and many many more….

Loves always, son Darren and wife Michelle Johnson and their three children and their families as follows:  With all our love Papa Honey, Sarah, husband Adam; Marcus, wife Nellie, great grandson Braydon; and Jordan.  Love always, daughter Dawnette Davidson and her four children Blake; Blair; Nikki, great granddaughter Aubriella; and Drew…. We will miss you….
