Robert “Bob” Leedy

Robert “Bob” Daniel Leedy, passed away on January 6th at the age of 75.  He lost his battle with pancreatic cancer at Kadlec Medical Center in Richland, Washington. 

Bob was born on April 21, 1941, in Everett, WA.  He grew up in Lake Stevens with his parents Arthur “Mike” and Maxine Leedy.  He enjoyed many adventures with his siblings Susan, Michael, and Sally. 

After graduating from Lake Stevens High, Bob went on to join the Army, where he participated in the Signal Corp.  After the Army, he attended the University of Washington and went on to graduate from Western Washington University with a degree in Urban and Regional Planning.  It was at Western where he met his life-long sweetheart, Kathleen, whom he married on April 2, 1966.

Bob was hired by the City of Dallas, Texas, as a city Planner, where they had their first daughter, Christine.  They moved to Richland, WA, in 1973, where they had their second daughter, Michelle.  He worked for the City of Richland until he retired in 1992.  After a brief retirement, he returned to work as a consultant before being hired as the interim Community Development Director for Port Townsend, Bonney Lake, and, lastly, West Richland.

He is survived by his wife: Kathleen Leedy; daughters: Christine Leedy and Michelle (Paul) Sabin; grandchildren: Alexa Leedy, Cameron Laws, Wade Sabin, and Bret Sabin; brother: Michael (Sharon) Leedy; and sister: Sally (Bob) Cantrell; nieces: Patty, Lisa, Debbie, Laura, Sandy, and Dianne, Bonnie, Kelly and Lynette; nephews, Michael and Doug. He is preceded in death by his parents and sister, Susan Robarts. 

Bob’s Celebration of Life is scheduled for Saturday, March 18th at 2 PM at Einan’s Funeral Home in Richland.  Family and friends are invited to come and share fond memories.  The service will be officiated by Wayne Jenkins.
