Lori Jean (Macduff) Goodsel

Lori was born January 5, 1977 and went to be with Jesus July 4, 2017.

She lived in the Tri-Cities nearly all her life. Lori loved being a Girl Scout and the special friendships that developed over the years within her troop. She was especially proud of her final project to earn her Gold Award as a Senior Girl Scout.

For most of the last decade Lori supported her husband and children through her planning, love, and care of them and their interests. In these areas she will be missed. During some of her early years of marriage to Christopher she worked in a variety of jobs related to finance. She also completed a bachelor’s degree in business. As the kids got older, she shifted to various volunteer activities and spent time with her children. Lori found joy in her volunteer work with Girl Scouts and became quite adept helping with cookie sales with her daughter’s troop. At St. Patrick Catholic School, she was also able to use her organization and planning talents in various fund-raising activities such as the annual fun-run. Her volunteer activities also centered on her church where she helped with the paging station on Sundays and was a part of a mid-week morning Bible study group. Lori also filled a key role in helping Christopher with his projects through tracking down needed parts or facilitating sales. Her skills in planning helped the family achieve fun vacations that all family members appreciated.

Lori’s health became an issue in January 2017 with the discovery of breast cancer. Although successful breast cancer surgery took place, various tests identified other cancers. While there seemed to be hope and progress towards beating the cancers, the toll it took on her body was too much and she succumbed to complications. Through God's grace and perfect timing her entire family was present at the hospital when she passed.

Lori is survived by her husband, Christopher Goodsel, daughter Mackenzie and son Conner of Pasco; by her extended family that includes her parents, Dianne and Bob Macduff; her brothers Matthew (Melissa) and Trevor (Jessica) Macduff, and numerous nephews and nieces.

In lieu of flowers, donations to the Children’s Tumor Foundation (120 Wall Street, 16th Floor New York, NY 10005-3904) would be welcome.

A Celebration of Life service will be held at West Side Church in Richland, WA on July 18 at 11:00 am with a reception afterwards.

  • Lori was always the cheerful face that we saw when we walked in the door at church on Sunday. She and Chris worked together and helped parents with young children. I love their children and my heart breaks for Chris and for Conner and Mackenzie. Lori was a family-first lady and loved helping Mackenzie with Girl Scout Cookie sales… she was a great organizer! Conner is the most thoughtful boy, and it was always evident that he was raised by a loving Mom and Dad. Lori was humble, hard-working and full of heart. We will miss you Lori, XOXOX
