Franklin E. Haun, Jr.

Franklin E. Haun, Jr., 79, of Benton City, WA passed away on September 4, 2017 at the Hospice House in Kennewick. He was born in Topeka, KS on February 15, 1938 to Frank and Blanch.

Frank and his family moved to Benton City when he was 10 years old where he lived until his death. He married the girl of his dreams, Mary, in 1956 at the age of 18. They had a family together with a daughter Kim and son Wade.

He worked for the Hanford area for 30 plus years and he retired from there at the age of 55. He was most proud of the fact he raised two wonderful children who love and adore their parents. During his life, he built a house on the farm, helped fund and build the Masonic Lodge #277 in Benton City and was an active member of the Shriners. Frank also belonged to the Tuscan Lodge #136 in Umatilla, OR, Desert Patrol, Eastern Star Rosa Chapter #238 and was Rainbow Dad of Benton City #135 for many years.

Frank is survived by his wife of 61 years, Mary Haun; his favorite daughter, Kim McCarthy (Marvin); his No. 1 son, Wade Haun (Lorie); grandchildren, Joey Haun, Emily Shipman, Matt McCarthy, John Kortz; sister, Dorothy Olander; nephews, Mike Albert and Jeff Olander.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Frank and Blanch Haun; sister, Eunice and her husband Chuck Albert and his nephew, Ken.

Frank will be missed by family and friends.

One of his favorite sayings were: “We don’t say goodbye. We say, see you later.” So we want to say to everyone on behalf of Dad, “See you later.”

There will be a Celebration of Frank’s life on Saturday, September 9, 2017 at 9:00am at Einan’s Event Center at Sunset, 915 ByPass Hwy in Richland, WA.
