  • Deon Helene was a very, plaisant persone, I knew her for twenty three years, first my neighbor and when Mr.McPeek pasted away, Deon asked me to drive her around. Deon did not know how to drive and was afraid of not being able to get to the Dr. hirdresser, gorcery ect, went through severals surgeries with her, catarate, and when she fall in front of the Dr. I had to take her to the hospital to have stichies over her left eye, I never forget how she was shaking, I came over to her and said: would like for me to hold your hand she said yes, then she finely stop shaking, this is how much confidence in me and me in her. For twenty years we were together, I drove Deon in all the places that she wanted to go.

We became very good friend, we both were company for each other. Deon had a good sense of humor and the years I spend around her were only plaisant and fun, she love to go out and eat, and when I did not want to go she would tell me I was no fun.

I got married 2 years ago and it was sad for me to leave her, and she would tell me I wish we had the good old days back.

When she was in the Altara I would go and see her bringing some of the treats she favored, flowers, she was always so appreciative, she would tell me that she was always thinking of the good time we had together, that it help her in her lonelyness, she would it seemed to want to sleep a lot, I would wake her up, and she would tell me only three months ago that she would live until the 100, such sudden change, I don’t know why. I saw her couple days before she past away, as I was carressing her face and hand she smiled at me saying :Chris it feel so good, she love to be love and affection, I love her like a mother, and she would tell me to the end tha she loved like a daughter, even the last time I saw with Ruby my friend that she loved me, Ruby was a good friend of Deon I had introduce Ruby to Deon, I should say Helene, Ruby was good to go visit every week, we all three often had lunch together. I am so glad that I got to see her couple days before she left us I know she went to Heaven, I know that she is with God, she was such good person.

I am sorry for her family and send them all my sincere sympathy. She will live in my heart and my mind until my end of time.

  • Frances, I am sorry for your loss. It is hard to lose the one person who loved you for your entire life and before. I remember your mom as a person who was genuinely interested in listening to another person. Its been a long time since I saw her, but I always had a good feeling when driving near Barth St. I know that graveside services are private or I would have attended. Wishing you comfort and a safe trip home. I remember our friendship with fondness as well. Carolyn
