Kathleen Mary Corboy

Born October 9, 1960, Kathleen Corboy passed away June 16th at her parents' home in Gig Harbor, Washington.

A warm and loving mother to two boys, daughter, sister, and friend, Kathleen will be remembered for her devotion to family and her community. She had a passion for entertaining, reading, travel and dance, and studied modern, jazz and ballet throughout her life. Kathleen will always be remembered as the first on the dance floor.

In 1991, Kathleen moved to Richland, Washington, with her family. She quickly became a tireless and dedicated volunteer and member of the Tri-Cities community, serving as a Scout leader for many years and helping to generate local support for the creation of Tri Cities Prep High School, the area's only Catholic high school.

A graduate of San Diego State University, Kathleen was a CPA and a board member of the CPA association.

For those lucky enough to have known Kathleen, their lives were made brighter by her presence and richer by her love.

Kathleen will be missed by her sons, Tommy and Andy Rigby of Richland, Washington; mother Sharon Corboy of Gig Harbor, Washington; brother Brian and Laura Corboy of Everett, Washington; sister Marie Corboy of Long Beach, California; sister Leeanne and Mark Eissler of Kingston, Washington; brother James and Brigid Corboy of Half Moon Bay, California; and sister Barbara and Matthew Anderson of Alexandra, New Zealand.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Tommy and Andy Rigby Education Fund at Bank of America Account 325 838 33.

Memorial mass to be held at Christ the King in Richland at 1 p.m. on Monday, July 2nd. Viewing at Einan's Funeral Home: Sunday July 1 from 3-5 p.m. and Monday, July 2 from 9-11a.m.

  • Our most sincere condolences to the Corboy family and especially Tommy and Andy. I served in Boy Scouts with Kathleen and knew her through the CK mom’s group and bunko-children are the same age so we interacted at CK school events. Her light and smile were always on and she was so willing to serve in leadership roles throughout the community. She will be missed. Sincerely, Mary Caruso and Paul and Natalie Gagnon

  • My deepest sympathy. I am a friend of Kathleen’s from the E-Diet’s community. Kathleen was part of our group for a couple of years and we didn’t know what happened until I found this obituary! She always brought her own brand of sunny enthusiasm to our group! We shall all miss her terribly! Many prayers for her two boys. She talked of you both often and always with pride and so much love!

  • I am so sorry for your loss.

I am also a friend of Kathleen’s from the eDiets community. We had not heard from Kathleen and were worried and then Kathy found this obituary. So, we just found out about her death yesterday and it has touched all of us deeply. We all talked on one of the support boards for Working Moms and the support given by Kathleen to all of us is immeasurable. She was very proud of both of her sons and sounded so happy when talking about her engagement to Gordon. She loved all her family very much.

I will miss her cheery, encouraging posts.

Please accept my deepest sympathy and my prayers for your whole family. Many special hugs for Tommy and Andy. Your mother loved you very much and always talked about you two with pride.

  • I too was a virtual friend of Kathleen at ediets and only recently logged on and heard of her passing. She popped in and out over the last few years as I did. She loved her boys immeasurably, her family and friends were her rock, and she had such a passion for life that inspired all of us. She was tireless in her support of those around her; she inspired many of us to “get up and do it” and to pursue what is important in your life. While we never met her on our online meetings, we all loved her and knew she was alway vivacious and smiling! She will be missed by all of us. I am sending my sincerest condolences to her two boys, her family and her fiance.

    Sincerely,
