Prets moved to Genesee, Idaho in the late twenties and lived there until WWII. He enlisted in the Navy in 1942 and served for 3 plus years. He was assigned to a destroyer during two years of the war and saw action in the Pacific in major engagements from the Marshall Islands to Okinawa.

After the war he went to work at Hanford. He worked there for 391/2 years. At his request there will be no services. Any memorials may be made in his name to the CBC Leuita Mathiowetz Endowment Fund.

  • I only knew Pretz briefly as I met him at the funeral services for my father when I was a small child and then again as an adult in the early 90’s at a family gathering. I remember him as a kind and loving person. I am sorry I never knew him better. When I met him at the family gathering, he gave me some momentoes of my lost father for which I am very grateful. I hope his family will find peace and have happy memories of their father as I do of mine. I wish them love.
