Sandra Gail Sleater

Sandra Gail Sleater, 64, passed away at Kadlec Medical Center on May 2, 2012 in the presence of her three daughters. Born in Walla Walla at St. Mary's Hospital on February 8, 1948 to Herbert and Beulah Mae Lasater, she is survived by her children, Lara Art Ortega, Traci Travis Trulson, Eric Rachel Sleater, Erin Sleater, and Shannon McBride, whom she always considered a son, as well as her very cherished grandchildren, Jordan, Alli, Shelby, Keegan, William and Andrea. She is also survived by her mother, Beulah Lasater and siblings, Darlene Snow, Mary Ralph Lettau, David Julie Lasater along with numerous nieces and nephews. She will be greatly missed by everyone she touched. She graduated from Columbia High School, Richland, in 1966 and was married to Bill Sleater in December of 1969. To say she was the rock of our family with her virtues and sacrifices would be an understatement.

A selfless mother and grandmother to her family and their friends, she provided everyone who crossed her path with inspiration, strength and faith. An avid sports fan, she never missed a sporting event for her grandkids and was always an animated viewer on the side lines or watching games before the TV. She loved traveling; camping and reading. She always had a smile on her face and a glow of love and life, even until the end.

She was preceded in death by her older brother Garland, former husband Bill, sister Linda June, father Herbert and son-in-law Randy Snow. A special thank you to Dr. Hamarneh, out-patient and 3rd floor oncology nurses at Kadlec. Our family appreciates those nurses that were with Mom in her final moments and the incredible care they showed our mother and family. A public viewing will be at the Einan's Funeral Home, Richland on Sunday May 6th, 2012 from 12-3. Funeral service will be held at Bethel Church 600 Shockley Road in Richland on Monday May, 7, 2012 at 3:30 pm. There will be a graveside service and celebration of Sandi's life immediately following at Einan's in Richland. In lieu of flowers, her family requests donations to the Tri-City Cancer Center in her memory.
