  • I was privileged to meet and spend some time with Dave. I got into ham radio and spent a few hours with him atter buying some of his old gear. .His body had issues, but boy that mind was aharp.
You will be missed my friend, and thank you for what you shared with me from the blitz in London all the way to the present.

  • I was so sorry to hear of Dave’s passing. I had the privilege of working with him for several years, around the year 2000. He always has a story, and given I am also from England, it seemed he even more stories with me than with others. In the following years, I would frequently run into him in his native habitat, Safeway. I am saddened that I will no longer see him around, he was a lovely man, delightful sense of humour, and had lived a fascinating life. I will miss him.

  • Dear Gropper Family.
I never met your Dad, Husband, Grandfather, but I felt I knew him on the phone (rare) and through email (often) as an Amateur Radio Operator. I never heard from him after 5/1/2022 and he was there to encourage me multiple times with my stroke. He was a wonderful Amateur Radio operator as KK7SS, I will never forget him. I wish I had the ability to come visit him in Richland from Virginia where I live. I will cherish a radio he sent to me as a gift over a year ago indeed. He was a wonderful person and from his pictures has a wonderful family. May God give him rest, and the family peace during a difficult time.
    With many regards Guy, N1GMM

  • Dear Gropper Family: We were saddened to hear of Dave’s passing last week. We have many fond memories of him and his family and want to send our heartfelt condolences. Dave always had a great story to tell and we learned so much from him because we he didn’t seem to forgot anything he’d experienced in his lifetime. His fun stories were always told with a smile, with great enthusiasm, and a lovely English accent. We also admired him for bringing the kids to church every Sunday. We know he loved his family and we hope you have wonderful times celebrating his life.
