Celebration of Life
Tamara Lynn “Tami” Scott
Tamara Lynn Scott (Tami) age 60, of Richland, Washington passed away on September 7, 2022, after a courageous fight with systemic lupus. Tami was born to Dr. John R. Barnes and Irene B. Morcom on November 28, 1961. Tami attended Hanford High School and went on to Eastern Washington University graduating with degrees in early childhood education. It was there Tami met and married the love of her life, Dean Leroy Scott. Tami and Dean were blessed with three children: Staci Marie Weyers, Nicole Irene Scott and Christina Lynn Scott.Tami was a single mother for the last twenty five years after the untimely death of husband Dean.
Tami particularly valued spending time with family. It was in those moments when she was at her happiest. Other things that brought Tami happiness was music (she enjoyed country in her earlier years and expanded her tastes later in life), reading (Christmas and Amish stories) and watching videos on her tablet. One of her favorite things to do was to visit the park with a slice of cheese pizza. Tami’s favorite movie was Mama Mia.
Tami always tried her best to be positive even when her illness got her down. She smiled even when she didn’t quite feel like it. She saw the best in people, and gave everyone the benefit of the doubt. For her children she offered a shoulder to cry on and an ear to listen. She was always there for anyone who needed her. Tami touched the lives of everyone around her and to those whom she met.
Tami passed away on September 7, 2022, surrounded by loved ones. She was preceded in death by her father Dr. John R. Barnes and her husband Dean. Tami is survived by her mother Irene B. Barnes, sisters Debbie K. Hardman (Scott) and Terrie A. Pettibon, brother John S. Barnes (Debbie), as well as her three children, Staci Weyers (James), Nicole Scott and Christina Scott.
Funeral services will be held Saturday, October 8, 2022 at 2:00 p.m. at the Einan’s Funeral Home Chapel. The service will be live streamed. Burial will take place at Sunset Memorial Gardens Cemetery in Richland, WA
