Philip J Philip

Philip John Philip was born August 30, 1946 in Kansas City, Missouri and passed away on October 2, 2022 of pneumonia, after battling Parkinson’s disease and Alzheimer’s disease. He was a sick Hanford worker.

Philip moved to Richland as a child and attended Richland schools. He enlisted in the US Navy
and he also attended Columbia Basin College

He was a member of Plumbers and Pipe-fitters Local 598, worked out at Hanford and he was also a member of local 32 in Seattle, WA.

Philip had a love of packing his horse and mule in mountains to go hunting and he taught hunters education classes for the WA state game Department and was a certified instructor.

He was a highly intelligent man with many interests, which one of his interest was a love of airplanes and became an airplane mechanic and he flew a 1946 Aeronca airplane then later he became a Welding Inspector.

Philip was brought up Episcopalian and loved his Lord and Savior, he served as an acolyte at All Saints in Richland.   When he moved to Prosser as an adult he served on the Bishops Committee at St. Matthews Episcopal Church.

He is survived by his wife, Sharon Philip and two sons, Jeremy Philip and Brandon Philip. He is also survived by his granddaughters Lacey Philip and Cassidy Philip.

Celebration of Life will be held at Einan’s at Sunset Funeral Home in Richland, WA starting at 1:00pm on Friday, October 28, 2022.

  • Hard to imagine my big brother is gone.
    I guess I can add one of my memories about him….
    I think most people know how proud Philip was to be an American…when I was going to buy my first car, he told me he would only help me with the upkeep of the car if I bought USA.. he did forgive me when I went Canadian and bought a Studebaker. He even taught me how to change the oil and filter.
