Ernie Asselin

Ernest J. Asselin, age 79, passed from this earth peacefully on Friday, January 27, 2023 at Kadlec Medical Center in Richland, Washington. He was born April 17, 1943 in Boise, Idaho to Arthur and Mildred (Shaw) Asselin.
Ernie graduated from Walla Walla High School in 1963. After high school, he attended barber college and became a barber for a short time. His career was at the Hanford Nuclear 300 Area in Richland, Washington, where he was employed until he retired.
Ernie is survived by his beloved wife of 46 years, Marsha (Clark) Asselin, his three daughters and one son: Tammy (Asselin) Gill, Kevin Asselin, Paula Asselin, and Martha Asselin. He also has 5 grandchildren, 9 great-grandchildren, and 1 great-great-granddaughter.
Ernie was a Christian who loved the Lord. He was kind, generous, caring, and often offered insightful advice that was uplifting to those whose lives he touched. He was also a gifted poet; writing poetry was his passion, and he wrote from the heart. He was featured in several poetry publications and received many awards.
May he rest in paradise with eternal love. We will miss our blessed husband and father forever.
“Now unto the King eternal, immortal, invisible, the only wise God, be honour and glory for ever and ever. Amen.”
1 Timothy 1:17

  • I think of then,
Lives of great men all remind us
And we can make our lives sublime,
    With, partings, leave behind us
Footprints on the sands of time.
    It’s true.

  • Dear Marsha, Paula, and Martha Suzanne,
We have had 51 years of a golden friendship. We met as single ladies when we both started serving God. I enjoy(ed) talking about the Word of God with all of you. Paula and Martha were a delight to watch grow into such beautiful, caring, and loving women. Ernie is at peace and has no cares anymore. What bliss he must be experiencing! May God Bless you! With much love, Suzanne
