Patricia J Wodrich

Patricia JoAnn (Isakson) Wodrich, 91, of Richland, WA, passed peacefully in the arms of her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ on January 20, 2023, with family by her side at Guardian Angel Homes. She joined her beloved husband, Don, who passed in June 2022. Together they shared a beautiful life and had three children. Pat was a devoted and caring wife, mother, grandmother, and great grandmother.

Pat was born February 7, 1931, in Columbus, Montana to Leonard and Dagny Isakson on a farm near the confluence of the Yellowstone and Stillwater Rivers. She attended Westmar College in Le Mars, Iowa and graduated from the Lutheran Bible Institute in Seattle, WA. Pat and Don were married September 15, 1957, in Columbus and moved to the Tri-Cities in 1958 where Don was employed at the Hanford site. Pat and Don raised their family and called the Tri-Cities their home for over 60 years.

Pat would tell stories of the depression and of her parents providing warm meals and a bed of straw in the barn to those out of work and riding the rails. Pat’s life was a continuation of those lessons learned on the farm of serving others. Early on in life, Pat thought she would become a nurse or overseas missionary. However, she came to realize she could be a missionary with her family and in her everyday walk in life in her local community. Pat served as an administrative assistant and lay chaplain with the Tri-Cities Chaplaincy and also volunteered as a Stephen Minister, caring for community members one-on-one who were facing difficulties.

Pat was preceded in death by her husband, Don Wodrich, her parents, and sisters Leilah Kovanda, LeAnn Craig, Wanda Frazier and brother Larry Isakson. Survivors include her sister Bonita Doely, her children Dan Wodrich (Laura) of Richland, Jim Wodrich (Valerie) of Bend, OR, and Nancy Sargent (Rich) of Richland; plus nine grandchildren: Angela Breitbach, Jennifer Wodrich, Lindsey Robicheau, Claire Wodrich, William Wodrich, Megan Anderson, Erika Anderson, Nick Sargent, Nathan Sargent; and three great grandchildren: Mason and Brynn Breitbach, and Landon Sargent.

Pat and Don were active members of Richland Lutheran Church and First Lutheran Church of Kennewick and developed lifelong friendships with their church family. Pat remarked that Bible devotions fed her faith and were her daily stay through life. Pat will be remembered most for her love, devotion, and self-sacrificial service to family and others, following her Lord Jesus.

Pat’s family would like to extend our sincere gratitude to her many caregivers, including the staff of Guardian Angel Homes and Chaplaincy Hospice Care. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorials be made to First Lutheran Church of Kennewick or Chaplaincy Health Care.

A celebration of life service will be held on Saturday, March 4th at 2 pm at First Lutheran Church of Kennewick.
