Narinder Kaushal
On February 20, 2023; Narinder N. Kaushal, one of the kindest, gentlest souls ever, left this earth in peace. Narinder “Ninu” Kaushal’s life was almost a “rags to riches” story. Arriving in the U.S. from India in 1960, he landed with $60 in his pocket, several loans from friends, and an unwavering determination to complete a Ph.D. in Nuclear Physics from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute. He had always planned to return to India, but he soon got pleasantly sidetracked by his marriage to Nancy Majoros and the birth of two beautiful children. Family meant everything to Ninu. He lived to ensure their happiness and financial well-being. He loved them more than anything, and they him.
Ninu is survived by his wife of 57 years, Nancy Majoros Kaushal, His son Dinesh Kaushal; daughter Maya Kaushal Leabman, son-in-law Michael Leabman and grandsons Max and Matthew Leabman. He is also survived by his sisters and brothers-in-law, Jaqueline Majoros, Elizabeth (Martie) Majoros, Mike Majoros, Bob Kiss, And Nancy Compton. Ninu is also survived by many loving relatives in India; his sister Anant Sharma; numerous nephews and grand nephews, nieces and grand nieces, who considered him their father / grandfather.
Ninu was always the humblest of people, and although not outwardly religious, he was guided by tenets expressed in the Bhagavad-Gita. This quote resonates with the way Narinder led his life.
Whatever is yours today
Was somebody else’s yesterday,
Will be somebody else’s day after tomorrow.
It is change itself that is the governing principle in the universe.
The most kindest man I ever met. I’m thankful for meeting your family. Sleep tight!
Will miss his peace and kindness at the gym.
Just want to echo everyone else’s sentiments regarding Ninu, a remarkably kind and gentle soul with a great mind. He was also a wonderful neighbor, quick with a smile and ready to help anyone. Will miss our seeing him stroll around the neighborhood and visiting with everyone.
I can attest that Ninu was a kind soul and a true gentleman. We worked together on the “Reg Unit” in the early 2000’s. He was extremely intelligent, a great listener with a good sense of humor. I am glad to have known him. Condolences to his family.
Our sympathy & prayers to the Kaushal family.
One of the kindest and most caring souls whom we will miss greatly. Our deepest sympathies.
May you be at peace.
The earth certainly lost one of its gentlest souls with Ninu’s passing. I will always look fondly on the times I shared with Ninu on and away from the job and the interesting conversations held over a cold beer or nice glass of wine. He will be truly missed. Rest in peace my friend.
