Services During the Pandemic
If you’ve experienced a loss, or if you are looking to plan ahead or even if you have a loved one’s urn at home and you are seeking placement in our cemetery the first step is to meet with a funeral director or family service counselor. I’m here today to share with you some insight on a recent consumer study.
The findings presented some very important information with regard to how consumers view funeral and cemetery service. The study focused on consumer behaviors pre-COVID, during COVID, and post COVID.
We want to help you Celebrate Life during your time of need
We can still help plan and hold your service during the pandemic.
Although we pride ourselves in keeping up with the times COVID did force us to step our game up with regard to how we do things remotely. We are able to meet family’s in-person, in their home, remotely via video platforms such as Zoom or Google Hangouts, and/or over the phone and we’ve streamlined our paperwork process to be 100% electronic by utilizing DocuSign. In doing so, we are more efficient and are able to focus on building a relationship with you and your family so we can create an event that is unique to your loved one.
You might think that all funeral homes offer this but they don’t. Why? Because it’s hard work. It takes planning and for some, it’s just not the way they’ve always done it.
Working face-to-face
We understand the challenges of being separated and we now have options to communicate that would work best for you.
It’s more than a transaction for us. It’s about building a lasting relationship and healing experience. Always has been, always will be.
Our team is innovative so if you don’t see a meeting preference that works for you, just give us a call. We can adapt to an arrangement that works best for you. Give us a call if you would like to learn more about our meeting options for both families in immediate need and also for families that are looking to plan ahead.
The results revealed that the COVID-19 Pandemic has presented the funeral profession with unparalleled challenges that many never saw coming. By nature, the funeral profession has been known for being slow to adapt to consumer preferences. Based on the results of this study, the top three challenges the funeral and cemetery profession face today are with regard to: technology, price transparency and physical attendance.
Today I’d like to touch on a small portion of the technology side of things, specifically referring to how we meet with families both after a loved one has passed and/or when planning ahead.
Pre-COVID, 34% of respondents in this study stated that they would prefer to make arrangements over the phone and/or virtually via some sort of video platform. During COVID and/or POST COVID that number rose to 46%. As our community continues to learn how to live through this pandemic the expectations with regard to what funeral homes and cemeteries offer moving into the future are more important than ever. What is necessary now will be expected in the future.
What we want our community to know is that we are able to accommodate your meeting preferences. We want you to feel safe and comfortable.
