Gayle (Roxy) Short

Gayle Roxanne (Roxy) Short, 71, of Richland WA., passed on January 18, 2016.

                Roxy was born in Pasco, WA, at Lady of Lourdes Hospital on January 19, 1944, to Palmer and Lucille Knutson. She grew up on Johnston Ave. in Richland. She attended Jefferson Elementary, Chief Joe Junior High, and graduated from Columbia High School in 1962. Roxy received her LPN degree in nursing from Columbia Basin College.

                Roxy was married to Lynn A. Baker. They resided in the Tri-City area. They had two daughters, Kelly Joanne and Holly JeNeanne. Roxy later remarried to Charles Short.

                Roxy worked as an O.B. nurse for Kadlec Hospital for over 20 years. She also did foot care for the elderly at the Lutheran Senior Center for many years.

                Roxy enjoyed water and snow skiing in her youth. And she was always up for dancing. Roxy was willing to help anyone in need. She was a member of the Red Hat Society, the VFW, and the Richland Lutheran Church.

                Roxy is survived by her mother, Lucille Knutson; daughters: Kelly and Holly, and 3 grandchildren, and other family and friends.

                Roxy is preceded in death by her father, Palmer T. Knutson; brother, Paul J. Knutson; husbands:  Lynn Baker, and Charles Short.

                The family would like to extend a special thank you to Gail Middleton for her diligent and loyal service as Roxy’s guardian.

                Funeral services are to be announced at a later date.
