Alice Ilene Odekirk (Petersen)

 Alice Ilene Odekirk (Petersen) passed away peacefully on July 9th, 2016 at Guardian Angel Homes in Richland, Washington. 

Ilene was born on December 11th, 1935, in Brigham City, Utah to Volona and Raynold Petersen, and was raised with sisters Janice and Janet, and brother Raynold. 

She spent her early years growing up in Brigham City, graduating from Box Elder High School with the class of 1954. Later she would live in other parts of Utah, California, and Washington finally settling in Richland, Washington.  She worked numerous jobs during this time, eventually becoming a Computer Operator with Boeing Computer Services Richland (BCSR) , where she retired in 1996.

She loved her family, friends, and her pets (especially her cats), and enjoyed travelling or going almost anywhere as long as she was moving.  She was always happy to see the Wasatch mountain range as it reminded her of home.

Ilene was a life-long member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.

Ilene is survived by her sons, Steven Thomas and wife Deena of Roy, Utah;  Kelly Hammer and wife Paula of Walla Walla, Washington;  Kevin Hammer of Kennewick, Washington;  Roger Hammer and wife Cathy of Richland, Washington.  Ilene is also survived by her grandchildren:  Stefanie Bird, Tanya McGrath, Alexandria Willers, Austin Hammer, and Kylie Hammer, and great-grandson Nyxon McGrath.

Ilene was preceded in death by her brother, Raynold J Petersen, granddaughter Kristy Thomas, and infant grandchildren (twins) Kameran and Elizabeth Hammer.

A graveside funeral service will held be at Sunset Memorial Gardens in Richland, Washington on Thursday July 14th at 10:00 am.
