Helen Ann Wright, 89 of Richland, went to be with the Lord Jesus Christ on May 16, 2016. She was born on June 12, 1926 in Winlock, Washington and grew up on a farm the fourth child of Louis and Anna Hass. She was the only girl and had three older brothers whom she loved very much, all of whom preceded her in death: William Hass, Raymond Hass and Robert Hass. In 1946, shortly after the end of WWII, she met Ivan L. Wright at the plywood factory where they were both employed. The moment they met, Ivan declared to her they would marry. She laughed and said “I think you are crazy.” In the end he won her heart, and they were married 52 wonderful years. In 1954 they moved to the Tri-Cities. Three years after arriving they opened Wright’s Appliance store in Richland. 

Helen worked side-by-side with her husband helping customers, answering phones and keeping the books straight. They were open for business over forty years. Her heart could be seen in her bright smile and many people remembered her kindness when they visited the store. Ivan and Helen loved to travel and went on many adventures together in Portugal, Venezuela, Spain, Bahamas, Hawaii and Las Vegas. She loved her daughter Linda, step-daughters Gloria and Darlene, and all of her many grandchildren and great grandchildren. Family was everything to her. She was a talented pianist and artist and she had a special affection for dogs and cats.

Ivan preceded Helen in death by eighteen years. She is remembered with love by her daughter, Linda Robertson (husband – Wade); grandchildren: Shannon Lotto (husband – Jeff), Kelley Hays, Samantha Lahti, Dawn Jelmberg, David and Darren Goldsmith, Terri and Dorothea, Kathy and Mark, Butch and Susan, and Markellen Geyer.

A Celebration of Life for Helen will be held on Saturday, June 4, 2016 at 11:00am at Events at Sunset in Richland.
