Kathleen “Kathy” Ann McDowell passed away on October 25, 2016 in Richland, WA. Kathy was born in Price, Utah on September 10, 1948 to James Kenneth Anderson and Joyce Ann Anderson, and moved to Richland at the age of 4. She graduated high school in 1966 and graduated from WSU in 1970 with a BA in Anthropology.

After college, Kathy moved to San Francisco, CA and then to Spokane, WA. She later moved back to Richland, and went to work at Computer Science Services, Boeing Computing, and Kadlec Hospital doing computer services and programming.  She met and married, Paul McDowell, and together they lived in Benton City until his passing.

Kathy loved her pet cats, needlework, and was an avid reader. She also enjoyed going to Tri-City American’s games and watching the Seahawks. She valued getting together with her friends and they spent many great times together.

Kathy is survived by mother, Joyce Ann Anderson; brother, Bob Anderson; and sister-in-law, Teresa Anderson. Kathy was preceded in death by her husband, Paul McDowell and her father, James Kenneth Anderson.
