Janet Padgett

Janet Kay Padgett passed away on September 8, 2016, surrounded by her family, after losing her battle with pancreatic cancer. She is survived by her husband of 56 years, Jerry Padgett; four children, Cindy Angelich, David Padgett, Linda Hill and Glen Padgett; nine grandchildren; and brother, Larry Forby.

Janet was born January 1, 1942 in Topeka, Kansas to Lawrence and Lucille Forby. She attended Richland High School and graduated in 1960. While raising her family, she went on to complete her education at Central Washington University, earning a degree in accounting. She worked as a recruiter at Deloitte, Haskins and Sells before eventually starting her own consulting firm and teaching Human Resources at Shoreline Community College. Her favorite pastimes were gardening, ceramics, spending time with her children and grandchildren, and traveling the world with her husband. To those who knew her, she had a generous heart and went out of her way to help those in need – from either finding someone work, or just providing a place to stay until they got back on their feet. She was truly a special woman.

Services will be held on Friday, September 16th, 2016. A Public Viewing will be at Events at Sunset at 12:00 p.m. and a graveside service will follow at 1:00 p.m. at Sunset Memorial Gardens, located at 915 Bypass Highway, Richland, Washington 99352. A memorial service/celebration of life will be announced at a later date.
