William “Bill” Craddock

William L. "Bill" Craddock, 74, passed away peacefully Wednesday, October 4th after a long battle with illness.  Bill was born to Glen and Carrie Craddock in Hartshorne, OK.  He was the youngest of three children.  The family moved to the Richland area later in 1943 where his father worked at Hanford during the Manhattan Project.  Bill was a 1961 graduate of Columbia (Richland) High School and was a popular student there.  He worked as a pipefitter, welder, and sprinkler fitter, and spent the majority of his career at Hanford, retiring as a Maintenance Supervisor for the Hanford Fire Department.  Bill lived most of his life in Richland and was an avid sports fan, music lover, history buff, storyteller, poet, fisherman, and golfer.  Most of all, he was a very proud and loving father, grandfather, and uncle.  He adored and was adored by his family and friends; they were the most important element of his life.  Bill was preceded in death by his parents and his sisters Susan Loveless and Glenda Marquis.  He is survived by his son Garrett Craddock of Kirkland, son Allen Craddock and daughter-in-law Lacey Craddock of Richland; grandsons Atticus and Ezra, and many nieces, family members, and close friends.  A memorial service will be held Thursday, October 19th at 1:00 pm at Events at Sunset in Richland.
