Louci Ann Fatur

EINAN’S FUNERAL HOME Louci Ann Fatur, 84, of Richland, Washington passed away Sunday, December 9,2001, at the Tri-Cities Chaplaincy Hospice in Kennewick, Washington. She was born in Sopris, Colorado on July 19, 1917. Louci was the third of seven children. Her parents were Rudolph and Stella Peashka. She left school in the lOth grade to go to work to help provide for her family. When Louci was nineteen years old, her mother died and she accepted guardianship of her four younger siblings, ranging in ages from 10 to 16. Louci grew up in Trinidad, Colorado and married John Fatur in Raton, New Mexico on November 19,1939. John and Louci moved to Richland in 1944. Their first home here was a prefab. Louci always thought that the prefab was just like a doll house and was so happy to be here. Louci was a homemaker, in the truest sense of the word. She was a wonderful mother, cook and baker and an exacting seamstress. Her crochet work was beautiful. She was always there for her husband and three children. She was a Cub Scout leader and 4-H leader. She worked at the Kadlec Hospital Auxiliary for years with her ''sewing'' ladies. Blessed for having been family to Louci are her son Michael and wife Linda Fatur, daughter Judy and husband Grant Baston, and daughter Carole and husband Lester Blair. Louci's grandchildren are Kristina Fatur, Michael and Cathi Fatur, John Baston, Angela and John McKeone, Charles Baston, Chad and Krista Blair and Chelsea and Michael Mills. Great-grandchildren are Jason Fatur, Tyler and Meaghan McKeone, Bryson Blair and Mason and Chloe Mills. Louci is survived also by her brother John Sefcik and wife Charlotte; sisters-in-law, Helen Yarosch and Frances Fatur, and several nieces and nephews. Louci was preceded in death by her husband, John, in June 1994, as well as five of her brothers and sisters and two sisters-in-law. The Funeral Mass will be at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, December 15,2001, at Christ the King Catholic Church with Father Thomas Champoux officiating. Interment is at Sunset Memorial Gardens, Richland. Memorial contributions may be made to the Tri-Cities Hospice, 2108 W. Entiat Avenue, Kennewick, W A, to Christ the King Catholic Church, 1126 Long Avenue, Richland, W A or to the charity of your choice.

  • My condolences go out to the family of Louci especially the Baston, Blair, Mckeone and Mills families. I only met Louci a short while ago when I was visiting Pasco in late November with her grandaughter Angela. Louci was a very spunky and gracious lady and she reminded me of my grandmother which I miss very much. Louci let me pretend that she was my grandmother too. I am very glad that I was able to meet Louci and spend a little bit of time with her. I will especially remember her speeding down the hall with her new walker on wheels. Angela and I had to walk quickly to keep up. My love and prayers are with you all.

  • To the Fatur family,

I was saddened to read of your mother’s passing. It was so nice to get to have her at my home this past summer and get to visit with her. I’m sorry we will be out of town on Saturday, but you all are in our prayers.
