Uncle Curby thanks for all the memories. You helped me so much and I dont even have the words to express my love for you and all you have done for me in my life. I will miss the nights when I stayed over and we watched the Mariners or Duke play basketball and challenging each other to see who knew more sports trivia. I was good but you were even better. I truly appreciate you putting up with me when I was in a bad mood you were the only one who could turn my frown into a smile every time I snuck in the backdoor to surprise you guys. Ill see you soon and dont forget that you have to help me on my free throws like you promised me. I love you a lot Uncle Curby and Ill see you around.
Love always and forever
Rachel

I knew Orville affectinately as Shooby. I spent most of my childhood at his house. Not only did his wife Patty babysit me, but I was best friends with his grandaugter Sonia. My grandfather Ted and Shooby were friends, both working at the Hanford Fire Department. Shooby was a kind and wonderful man always making me feel very special. I remember in high school it was always a joy to see him on parent patrol. He had a special way with the students. All the kids loved him and refered to him as “grandpa”. Every now and then he would drop by my grandparents house for a visit. He would always greet me with a hug and my family always enjoyed his visits. I loved Shooby like family and I will miss him very much. My thoughts go out to his family. You are all in my prayers.
Will miss Orv.. He was a great guy.Enjoyed working
with him. Also seeing him at Badger Lake at times.
Our thoughts are with you & the family in you loss.
Coach,
I will catch you on the back nine at West, you will always be there!

Bob and I knew O.W. from RHS Parent Patrol. He was at the signup/certification meeting we attended in 1997. He came to shed some light on what we’d be experiencing as new recruits. We both spent time patrolling with him at football games and at lunch at RHS. He taught me quite a bit about being observant and his dedication was admirable.
Today, while I was patrolling at lunch at RHS at about 11:20 a.m., I found for the first time ever a lone golf ball. John Dawson RHS Security said that it was in honor of O.W. Bob and I know he is golfing in heaven.
Of course, my fondest memories of OW were related to golf: most of it at West Richland.
He had several favorite comments when we were playing. If you hit a decent shot but complained he would respond with, “You’ld bitch if you were hung with a new rope.”
If he was playing exceptionally well he always said, “Don’t burst my bubble!”
At the 19th his and my favorite saying was, “Want another one?”
Golf will not be the same without OW. I will remember him when I play in the future; in his cart driving beside me as I walked down the fairway and telling me the latest about his grandson, racing in his cart from shot to shot and jumping out before his cart stopped. Mostly, I will remember and miss his friendship.

I met “OW” through a mutual friend on a golf course in Richland, WA. He was a gentleman and enlivened
our experience that day. I
will not forget him…
Uncle Curby..
There are no words to descrbe how much you mean to us. You have taught me and Rach so much, and I feel blessed to have spent the 18 years of my life being as close to you and Aunt Patty as I am. I will forever cherish our heart to heart talks, cribb, games, and nights spent grubbing on cheese and salami. You have made a impact on the lives you have touched, and I will forever hold your knowledge and impact on life close at heart. Thank you for being you, and for bringing joy to our lives. I leave you with this quote ” Hope is the thing with feathers that perches in the soul, and sings the tune without the word, and never stops at all.” This reminds me of you because you were always doing all you could to help everyone around you. I cherish that quality and hope that your strength and love will help carry me through life. You have a big heart uncle curb and I admire that about you. Thanks for all the memories. I love you and know we’ll meet up again. Practice Up…and save me some cheese and salami. :
With lots of LOVE,
Nikki
I was very sorry to hear about the death of Mr. Turner. While I never met him, I have tremendous admiration for his son Greg, which speaks well for Mr. Turner’s role as an excellent parent. The family will miss him, it is clear.

Uncle Curby,
Only after a month can I now sign the guestbook. We will all miss Curby, a fun uncle to have. A great coach to have while in Pony League in Richland on – VFW Team. Next to my own Father, Curby is an example of a Father that I would like to most be remembered like, he took care of his family well and always loved them. We will all have good times thinking of Uncle Curby.

Thank you Uncle Curby for being such a special part of our lives and the influence you had on my two beautiful daughters, Nicole and Rachel. I will always cherish the visits we had, and the heart to heart talks. You were an awesome Uncle and no one could ask for more!! Well, you could have been a little easier on Tom, and let him win a golf game or two.
Dont forget the pact we made; I promise to hold to it!!
Love always,
Cherri
We are so sorry for your loss. Orv was a very special person who always made us laugh. He was a very special person to the Aunspaugh family and will be dearly missed!!!
I am engaged to Orville Turner’s niece, Cherri, and getting to know Orv was one of the perks.
Playing golf with Orv was always entertaining. Anyone who plays golf knows that your golf buddies are the best critics a guy could have. I will always remember the sheepish grin on his face when he played better than anyone else in the group; he would say “Just Lucky Today.” Well sure enough there would be another day when he played really well, and he would give that shy smile and say “Just Lucky Today.” We played in the Hero Golf League together and to alot of children and adults that is exactly what he was, a Hero! Thanks for the good times O.W. on and off the course When we meet up again on the ultimate 19th hole The first round is on me Buddy! You Da Man!
OUR PRAYERS ARE WITH THE FAMILY.
Prayers are with the family in the loss of a loved one. May peace and comfort be extended to you by the God of comfort.
Our thoughts and prayers are with Greg, Ronna
and the Turner family. I only met Mr. Turner once,
when we loaded some furniture to take back to
Tennessee for Greg and Ronna. I remember Mr.
Turner being a fun-loving character who even
made loading furniture a fun job. So much so that
my 14 year-old nephew, who was helping us,
said afterward, “That guy’s cool!”
If we can help with anything back here in
Tennessee or in any other way, please let us know.

With deepest sympathy, our thoughts and prayers are with you at this time.

Greg, you and your family have our prayers.
I got to know O.W. when I twice visited my Navy shipmate, Arlie Hoglen. Each time on the West Richland Golf Course, I never got closer than 10 strokes to O.W.’s score. Also, since Arlie mentioned O.W. in virtually every e-mail we exchanged over the last couple of years, I had the feeling that I really got to know him. He was a really great guy who provided some real great company on and off the golf course.
I really miss O.W. My sincere condolences to his family and all his friends.

Our deepest sympathy to the family. We did not know Mr. Turner very well but we know his son Greg and his daughter-in-law Ronna and they are great people and it is our belief that is the result of parents that have the same qualities. Here in the south we have a saying “the fruit doesn’t fall from the tree”. I think this is the case here also.
Deepest prayers and sympathy go out to you and your family during this time.
Greg,
We are so sorry to hear of your loss. Our prayers are with you.
