  • I have so many fond memories of my Aunt Linda, I don’t know where to begin. When I was eight years old I went and spent the entire summer at her house in Edmonds Wa. Mark and Joel were babies, and I thought it was great fun helping take care of them. She took me to the zoo, shopping, to the water front, we did lots of things together. When I got homesick about half way through the summer, I told her I wanted to go home. She started to cry so hard that I forgot about being homesick and comforted her telling her I would stay the rest of the summer, “just stop crying Aunt Linda!” She did, and I stayed the rest of the summer… had a wonderful time. I will miss you Aunt Linda, you had a zest for life very few people are lucky enough to have.

I know my Mom was there waiting for you with open, loving, arms, she loved her Sissy so much.

My sympathies go out to her husband.

Mark and Joel, I know how hard this is. I hope you both find comfort in the knowledge that her and my Mom are together and happy, I know they are. You both have my deepest sympathies. Your Mother loved you both so very much. Love Laura

  • My wife and best friend Linda is at piece now.

No more pain>no more operation’s> no more pills> no more throwing up> no more doctor’s apppointments > no more crying.no more pills…..no more pills……..no more pills.. 31 per day for over 7 years

Linda could name all the players on our Tri-City American hockey club. Linda could tell you the names of all the Seattle Mariner’s baseball club. 15 years of fishing for salmon in the pacific ocean, she caught the biggest fish on our boat… 41 lb. field dressed..Bingo>>oh god did she love bingo also!!! When her sissy Brenda passed on in 1998– it left a big void in her life. Thier together now…i can hear her telling me>>” look Raymond>>my arm does not hurt no more.and my tummy is ok now!!

If god could only grant us one more food fight in the kitchen, like the one on thanksgiving, when the biscut dropped on her son’s foot>>he was dancing on one foot yelling it hurt>> i laughed>>Linda rubbed mashed spud’s/gravy in my face..let’s just say,, what food that was left on the table.. 1-wife, 1-husband, 3 teenaged boys, and my mother. We had plenty to eat!! To this day, there is stains on one wall from that somewhat short turkey dinner. Who would ever think that this event had such fond memorie’s for so many years.

Linda Lou Quillen,,,,,, my wife, my best friend— like the song says, you was the WIND BENEATH MY WINGS.

Best friend’s do not have to tell each other they are best friends. they just know.

  • MY thoughts are with you .When somebody dies, a cloud turns into an angel, and flies up to tell God to put another flower on a pillow.

A bird gives the message back to the world, and sings a silent prayer that makes the rain cry.

People disappear, but they never really go away. The spirits up there put the sun to bed, wake up grass, and spin the earth in dizzy circles.

Sometimes you can see them dancing in a cloud during the day-time, when they’re supposed to be sleeping.

They paint the rainbows and also the sunsets and make waves splash and tug at the tide. They toss shooting stars and listen to wishes.

And when they sing windsongs, they whisper to us, don’t miss me too much. The view is nice and I’m doing just fine

  • Ray,

I’m making another entry because after reading the one I wrote the day after Aunt Linda died, I’m afraid I didn’t say to you what I intended. It was more to Mark and Joel because I was thinking of them, reliving the imense pain I felt when I lost my Mom. Big Sissy she was never too fond of the “big” part, but loved being Aunt’s sissyI just got back home from the funeral, I’m glad I was able to attend. I loved my Aunt Linda very much, and will miss her until I see her again.

I know you don’t expect thanks or praise for taking care of Aunt Linda, but I do thank you, and I know my mother would too. She was sick almost your entire marriage yet you stood by her through sickness and health, never faultering. It really shows how much you loved her. Not everyone is capable of sticking by someone through the real bad times. You were a good husband to her and she loved you very much. And like I said before, it is obvious how much you loved her. God Bless, Laura

  • Ray and family,

I am so sorry to learn of Linda’s death. Linda was a part of my career very early on and I have never forgotten how she mentored me with her humor to help keep the rough times in perspective. She always was fun, ethical and yet professional. Her attitude was everything! Even when she was suffering, she had the latest joke to share.

Linda, I know you’re up there telling jokes right now and giggling with those who have gone before. Peace be with you.

…and may God’s loving arms embrace you all.

    Sincerely,

Although the opportunity for our paths to cross were not as frequent as in the old days we loved Linda, she was like a favorite pair of slippers, just comfortable.

Oh & laugh, how we did laugh. Such fun we had.

To this very day every time I make Yorkshire Pudding I think of Linda another food story.
