From Richland, WA, US | Born in Seattle, WA
Michael Paul Foley
Michael Paul Foley, 45, passed away November 7, 2002 at Kadlec Medical Center due to complications of congestive heart failure. He was born January 20, 1957 to Charles and Rosemary Foley and was the second oldest of six children. At age 2, Mike was diagnosed with juvenile diabetes and began a lifelong battle with this disease.
The family moved to Richland in 1967, where Mike made many friends while attending Christ the King School, Chief Joseph Junior High and Richland High. After graduating in 1975, Mike began working at Exxon, now known as Framatome Advanced Nuclear Fuels. His responsibilities grew through out the course of his career. His technical expertise was unsurpassed and will truly be missed by his co-workers. He really cared about the people he worked with and constantly joked about winning ''Lotto Wednesday'' so that he could return to work one last time to throw $50 bills at everyone.
Mike embraced life and loved spending time in the outdoors. He especially enjoyed fishing for steelhead and had recently taken up sturgeon fishing with his son Eric. Fishing was a big part of his life and he logged many hours with family and friends while pursuing this sport. Mike loved his classic rock-n-roll and the Blues. He was a diehard Packers fan and enjoyed watching the games with his closest friends at ''Two Bit's & a Bite.'' Mike was an avid reader and loved working a good puzzle, with or with out friends. He had recently taken up Dutch oven cooking and enjoyed trying out new recipes. He had a kind heart and was always there for family, friends and co-workers -''If you know what I mean''.
Mike is survived by his son Eric, his father Chuck and mother Rosemary , his brothers Chris and Dan, sisters Mary, Liz and Meg, and their respective families.
There will be a viewing at Einan's Funeral Home on Sunday, November 10, from 1 to 5 p.m. A funeral service will be held at Christ the King Church on Monday, November 11, at 11 a.m., followed by a reception at the Knights of Columbus. In lieu of flowers, please make a donation to the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation in his name. As Mike would say, ''We'll see you later, big guy''. -God Bless.
We were dismayed and saddened to learn that a child of our friends Chuck and Rosemary Foley had died when we went to church Sunday, 11-10-02 and read the bulletin we haven’t read the paper lately. Joann and I want to extend our condolences to Michael’s family and to his parents, Charles and Rosemary. May God bless them all in their time of grief. Michael and Joann
Almost every morning at work I would run into Mike at the step off pad. The ritual was always the same, “Hey big guy”. Just keep thinking ‘lotto Wednesday’. I remember fretting on learning to run “Medussa” the resinter furnace. Mike was always there for me helping me to learn the ins and outs of it. I will miss him greatly as we all will. God bless him.
Some of my fondest childhood memories are with Mike, Chris and the Foley family. I remember Mike loved to read, listen to music, and just enjoyed life. He seemed to want to pull every moment and squeeze it for all it was worth. Hours were spent listening to “I was the Walrus” by the Beetles. I’m not sure I ever understood that song. I remember even as a teenager Mike would kiss his Mom before he left the house. What a gift. My prayers, thoughts and love go out to the family.
To the Foley Family, Hard to believe Mike has been gone over 3 years now. Your whole family was like my second family growing up, and even though we do not see each other much now, you are all still in my thoughts and prayers every day. Mike sure is missed and I know Chuck and Rosemary are taking great care of Eric. Mike will never be forgotten, and is always with you each and every day of your life and will be waiting for you when it is your time to cross over.

I remember well when the Foley family moved in next door in Richland and meeting Mike. We spent a lot of time together as kids. They are good memories. My prayers are with you.
One of the most dedicated and conscientious people I have ever met, which tended to drive some of his co-workers crazy.
No more stress,no more pain, but this world has been diminished.
Sayonara, mata aimasho, chisia tomodachi.
The characteristic of Mike that impressed me most was that of a loving, nuturing father. He showed his affection for Eric often. He also seemed affectionate towards all of his family members.
Dear Chuck and Rosemary, Chris and Family,
I am so sorry to read that Mike has passed away. I will keep you and your family in my prayers.
Kathy, Jim and Michael Carlton

So long big Guy, the place won’t
be the same without You.
