You have lost a wonderful husband and father. Our family and many other families have lost a wonderful friend. Big was so special and pleasantly unique. He has left a treasure of memories that will last the test of time. Sports, stocks, hunting, fruit trees and more were subjects of his expertise. He was so readily generous with his guidance and opinions. Our love for Big will always burn........Our prayers and thoughts are with you all.

  • Dear Simpsons and the Simpson extended family, “Big” Simpson was a special person and an important role model in my life. He was the American Little League All-Star manager in the summer of 1954 when I played for him. I can still hear him yelling “Baptise him, Dennis,” when I was at bat facing a new pitcher. After I fouled off a few pitches he yelled at me to choke up a little and I promptly whacked a home run. “Big’s” attention to detail went so far as to show us how to put on our baseball socks properly so they folded smartly with a smooth cuff. These lessons of adjusting to the moment and attention to small detail have served me well throughout my life. “Big” always had a smile on his face and an encouraging word whenever I saw him in later years, especially at Bomber football games. He was a good man and I am saddened to hear of his passing.
