Sara Beth Casey

Our precious child, Sara Beth Casey, is now being held in the arms of her heavenly Father. She was born to Terrance and Lori Icopini Casey on May 12, 1984, in Bozeman, Montana and died on Tuesday, September 23, 2003 as the result of an accident.
One of Sara’s great delights was spending time with family and friends doing a variety of activities including camping, biking, white-water rafting, swimming, and fishing. She enjoyed reading inspirational novels and playing and making music. She also enjoyed working with children. Recently she worked at the Kennewick Parks and Rec summer day camp then at the Central United Protestant day care. Sara loved life and had a great respect for the sanctity of life.
She was a member of the Parish of the Holy Spirit and its youth group. In high school, Sara was a member of TOPS the Olympic Program for Students and played flute with the Southridge High band. She was a drum major for the marching band during her senior year. She attended Western Washington Univ. last year and was intending to attend Eastern WA Univ. next quarter.
Sara is survived by her parents, Terrance and Lori; sister, Erin; brother, Donovan; great-grandmother, Anna Icopini; paternal grandmother, Charla Casey; maternal grandparents, Ernie and Marian Icopini; aunts and uncles, Pat Theresa Casey, Brian Lynn Casey, Jeff Colette Casey, Bill Colleen Casey, Michelle Dan Johnson, Perry Icopini, Nancy Brian Douglas, Dana Paul Sievers, Brent Brenda Icopini, Dale Patty Icopini, Todd Icopini, Gary Pat Icopini, Bart Icopini, Dean Icopini; numerous cousins and extended family; and many loving friends. She was preceded in death by her paternal grandfather, Joe Casey and aunt, Barbara Icopini.

We will miss her terribly, but are honored to have known her and been loved by her. A Celebration of Life Vigil service will be held at 7:00 p.m. Friday, September 26. Mass of Christian Burial will be at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, September 27. Both services will be at Parish of the Holy Spirit. Interment will follow in City View Cemetery, Pasco. Contributions in honor Sara’s memory may be made to the Parish of the Holy Spirit Activity Center Bldg. Fund, Habitat For Humanity, or to Tri-City Human Life.

  • THE ANGEL FLUTIST

An Angel’s flute has warmth, love and feeling.

When you hear the flute played, you are drawn to it by its mellowness and sincerity. There is a warmth that comforts you as the notes float in the air and land gently upon your ears. It’s a quieting and peaceful sound that makes you forget about the worries that are within. You can also feel the love that is being shared by the flutist. A love that is challenging you to open up and be more caring for those around you. The sound that flows from the Angel Flutist is an expression of the feeling of all that surrounds that angel both in Heaven and on earth.

To hear an Angel Flutist play is something most human beings can spend a lifetime looking for and never find. But we here at Holy Spirit Parish and the Tri-Cities area have all been blessed, because we have heard a true Angel Flutist – Sarah.

  • Casey’s:

Words cannot express to you how sorry we are about Sara. Sharing memories with you is the only way we know how to tell you how special she was. My fondest memory has to be one Sunday morning when Erin and Sara were going at it in the parking lot over borrowing shoes or clothes or something and I thought WOW the Casey girls fight too! : In mass that morning it got better as the girls practically arm wrestled each other during the Our Father, probably not appreciated by Mom and Dad but watched in great amusement by those around you. Sara always had a happy smile on her face and truly loved her family. Watching her play the flute at Church and at the coliseum her face was filled with joy and happiness. She will be our angel in heaven to pray for to watch over our girls and to watch over all the youth in the world.

    We love all of you,

  • Terrance, Lori, and family,

Sara was always such a nice girl. I remember playing with her when you would all come to the farm during the summer months. What I remmeber about her the most is her smile and how she always laughed. Her voice was a voice like no other had and it was so neat. I will miss Sara deeply. I am so thankful that I had the honor to be Sara’s cousin. May God Bless all of you and know that my thoughts and prayers are with you!!

  • I had the honor of spending a great deal of time with Sara. The camping birthday party in 5th grade, church choir and religious education, as well as many highschool classes. I am blessed to have shared so much time with such an inspirational person. I always idolized Sara’s committment to her catholic faith, and beautiful musical talent in which she shared often with others. • Dear Casey Family: My Husband and I walked into Holy Spirit at the Visual not knowing Sara and left knowing her as inspiration of life, thanking the Lord for using her as a instrument of his being. Looking around and seeing so many young people that Sara had touchd was amazing along with they all could of been at a Southridge or Kamiakin football game as well as some of the adults like us? But we all chose to be at Sara’s celebration of her new LIFE with OUR LORD’s presence. That is a true BORN AGAIN Child of God Christian reality to it’s perfection. I also found what a strong family Sara was apart of not many tears were shed as I’m sure they have been flowing for days, but it showed what a strong faith and confidence that you all knew your daughter and sister was OK, that is so comforting. She will always be missed. We thank your family for wakening our eyes to not take each other for granet who knows when our time is no longer of this world? We will try to keep communication with our children and show them effection. Sweet Sara was here for such a short time and look at how many people of all ages life’s she touched? Look how old we are and how many do we touch? Thank you “Angle of God Sara”. Love and prayers Kathi, George and FAMILY Stoltz’s.

I am so sorry for the loss of your loved one. I can not tell you how many people I know who loved and cared about her all the way down here in Walla Walla. I will always remember her and keep your family in my prayers. I knew Sara thorough SEARCH and because of that she was just like a family member to me. She was there for me up on the mountain top in my time of need, and was there to brighten my day and give me hope for a better tomorrow. She will forever stick out in my mind for her million dollar smile and heart of gold.
