From Richland, WA, US | Born in Fargo, North Dakota
Charles W. ”Chuck” Sullivan
Charles Walter Sullivan October 1920-October 2003
Charles passed the same way as he lived...peacefully, quietly and with dignity. His family was at his side when he passed.
Charles had a keen sense of humor and was unscrupulously honest. He loved traveling with his wife in their RV. They traveled extensively throughout the U. S. in their 5th wheel trailer and later in their van. They cruised through the Panama Canal and to Alaska, Canada, Hawaii and Mexico. When home he played golf and fed and watched the birds in his backyard sanctuary. He loved watching the sky, pointing out the constellations and the planets to his daughters and telling them when to expect the full moon. He wore colorful shirts and loved most anything blue, souvenir pins, popcorn and Peanuts cartoons, too. He was a loyal Mariners baseball and Bombers basketball fan. He collected stamps and enjoyed a challenging jigsaw puzzle. He was a member of CUP Church, Tri-Cites Travelers, Tumbleweed SAMS, Richland Senior Association' and the Tri-cities Stamp Club. In the 1950's, he was on the supervisory committee and treasurer of HAPO Federal Credit Union.
Charles was born October 20th, 1920 in Fargo North Dakota to Fred Sullivan 1892-1932 and May Lemon 1894-1982. He moved to Portland Oregon in 1936 and graduated from Jefferson High School in 1940. He attended Portland University, University of Washington and Carroll College in Helena Montana. He graduated from the University of California at Berkeley. He entered the U.S. Navy in 1942 and was honorably discharged in 1945. He met Norma Jean Ayers in Portland in 1947. They married and moved to Richland in 1949. He was employed by GE in 1949 and retired from Westinghouse in 1981. He is survived by wife Norma Jean, daughters Denise of Ellensburg WA, Janice of Everett WA. sons-in-law Don Schroder and Marc Yeomans, grandson Garen Schroder, 8 nieces and nephews, brother John and wife Barbara. He was preceded in death by his parents and brother Robert.

In lieu of flowers please direct donations to the Tri-Cities Chaplaincy Hospice, 2108 W. Entiat Ave., Kennewick, WA, 99336.
A memorial service will be held on Monday October 20, at 11:00am at Central United Protestant Church in Richland.
Altho we are members of the same church, we did not meet as couples until we traveled together with T.C.Travel Club. Many fond memories of a wonderful travel member; we shared many a table at meal stops and other events. Charles Walt to Norma Jean was always the gentleman and had a ready smile on his face. He volunteered as treasurer while Bob was president of the the travel club—we had lots of GOOD TIMES together–we’ll always remember you Charles.
It was my pleasure to have known Charlie when he worked with me in instrumentation more than 40 years ago here at Hanford
Norma Jean,
Donna Kocher sent me the funeral notice from the paper and I want you to know that my thoughts and prayers are with you and your family.
We want to extend our deepest sympathies to Jan Yoemans and her family. Although, we were not fortunate enough to know her dad, Chuck Sullivan, we feel that by knowing his daughter, Jan, we knew a part of him that was very special.
God Bless you!
Love, Robert and Carolyn

Chuck, you were always the quiet one in the shop. You were one of the first people I met when I arrived at 325 building. It is sad to to everyone passing on but I to will some day. You have joined the rest in that Instrument Shop. You and Glenn, and my Dad are all togeather again. May God be with you all
