Charlotte L. Collins

Charlotte L. Collins, 82, of Richland, passed away on April 19, 2004 at Kadlec Medical Center. She was born on March 4, 1922 in McLaughlin, SD to Raymond and Leona Reed.

She graduated from high school in Chicago and then went to nursing school in Bismark, ND. Charlotte and Douglas married in Billings, MT on July 26, 1948. The couple moved to Richland in 1961 and she worked for Kadlec Medical Center as a registered nurse.

Charlotte was a member of the Richland Yacht Club and enjoyed water aerobics at Columbia Basin Racquet Club. She also enjoyed sewing, boating, and hockey.

She is survived by her husband Douglas Collins of 55 years; son, Thomas and daughter-in-law Shirley Collins; daughter, Jeri and son-in-law Cliff Sandberg; son, John Collins; son Jeff and daughter-in-law Marianne Collins; 9 grandchildren; 3 great granddaughters; brother Ralph and sister-in-law Helen Reed and 3 nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents Ray and Leona Reed.

A funeral service will be held on Thursday April 22, 2004 at 11:00am at Einan’s Funeral Home in Richland, with interment to follow at Sunset Memorial Gardens.

At Charlotte’s request there will be no public viewing.

In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Tri-Cities Chaplaincy Hospice House, 2108 W. Entiat Ave., Kennewick, WA 99336.
