  • Kyle and Pat have been in my prayers since 1987. I met him while working for RJ Lee Group Inc and spent many months in the Berkeley lab over a period of years. His positive attitude and very caring nature made my work there a pleasure. We became good friends in that time and will miss his charisma and love. Our prayers are with Pat and the family for their loss. Although the acute pain goes away, the missing stays with us always and that is as it should be.

“Fly, fly little wing. Fly beyond imagining. The softest cloud, the whitest dove. Upon the wind of Heaven’s love. Past the planets and the stars. Leave this lonely world of ours. Escape the sorrow and the pain, And fly again.

Fly, fly precious one. Your endless journey has begun. Take your gentle happiness. Far too beautiful for this. Cross over to the other shore, There is peace forever more. But hold this memory bitter sweet, Until we meet.

Fly, fly do not fear. Don’t waste a breath, Don’t shed a tear. Your heart is pure. Your soul is free. Be on your way, don’t wait for me. Above the universe, you’ll climb. On beyond the hands of time. The moon will rise, the sun will set. But I won’t forget.

Fly, fly little wing. Fly where only angels sing. Fly away the time is right. Go now, find the light.”

God Bless and be with you,

  • I became Kyle’s friend when he was my supervisor in the early ’80’s. I enjoyed being around him, and I valued the the feeling that I could “open up” to him. I felt I could share my inner feelings with him and talk over problems. Most of these conversations tok place while we ran together at noon. These qualities are rare among us taciturn men, and I really missed Kyle when he left the Health Dept. My deepest sympathies go out to Pat, Zachary, and the others in Kyle’s family.

  • I worked with Kyle at Fluor Hanford at the 222-S Lab. We both started our employment at Fluor at about the same time. So, I got to know Kyle fairly well because we went through all the “start-up” training and orientation classes together.

Pat, I’m terribly sorry for your loss. The depth of our sorrow is a reflection of the happiness Kyle brought to our lives, the joy and exuberance we shared. While grief is universal, it is also very personal. Time and faith does heal. And you will always have those special memories of Kyle in your heart that will bring a smile to your face. I know that when I miss my mother and my father, for example, I try to remember something funny they said or did.

In parting, I would like to share one of my favorite Bible versus with you, that helped me get through the grief and the loss of my mother.

1 Corinthians 2:9 NIV – Though the pain is indescribable now, we must never forget that our separation is only temporary. We will be reunited on that glad resurrection morning.

You are in my prayers and in my thoughts,

  • I lost track of Kyle after he left the Bay Area and now feel terrible that I didn’t make the effort to stay in touch with him over the years. I met Kyle in 1987 around the time I started my career in the environmental field at the CA-DHS before he started his work with RJ Lee. We shared many good moments and he was a great inspiration to me in pursuing my own professional goals. I knew him as a good friend and caring man. He gave me spiritual support when I needed it most during a rough time in my life. I will miss our long phone conversations and social time we spent together whenever we saw each other. He will be missed by everyone he touched.
