From West, Richland, WA, US | Born in Bremerton, Washington
George Richard Petrina
George R. Petrina, 62, of West Richland, WA passed away Saturday March 19th at home with his family by his side, after a long and dignified battle with cancer. George was born in Bremerton, WA June 9, 1942 to George and Francis Petrina. After graduating from Central Kitsap High School, George moved to Spokane to become a floor-layer. On a blind date he met his first wife, Gerri, and of this union his two children were born. In 1994, George and his second wife, Marj moved to West Richland.
George was a floor-layer who always took pride in the job he completed. You could always find him on the job just by listening for him whistling a tune. He retired from Huck's Floor Covering in 2001 and took up woodworking and metal detecting. George and Marj also liked to travel and took trips to many places in the United States.
Our father, son, husband and grandfather always took care of all of us. He taught us to do everything with pride and do it right and for that we are all better for having him in our lives. He never knew a stranger and had many lifelong friends.
George is survived by his wife, Marj Eygabroad, his parents, George and Francis Petrina, West Richland, son George, wife Penny and their children Amanda, Samantha and Gabriel of Deer Park, WA, daughter Valerie Taylor, husband Mike and their children Blake and Ashley, Richland, WA, sister and brother in law Fay and Mel Johnson, nephews Brian and Tyrone and their families all of Tucson, AZ, Marj's daughters Julie Randy Stallard and children Brianne, Paityn, Lindsay, Jill Terry Reed all of Spokane and Gerri Soehnlein.
Dad - You make us proud to be your kids. We love you and will miss you and as Marj says ''you're a good soldier''.
Memorial Services will be at 10:00 a.m. Wednesday, March 23, 2005, at Einans Funeral Home, Richland and at 10:00 a.m. Friday, March 25, 2005, at Pines Cemetery Mausoleum, Spokane.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Tri-Cities Chaplaincy Hospice House, 2108 W. Entiat Ave. Kennewick, WA 99336 or to the Tri-City Cancer Center, 7350 W. Deschutes Ave. Kennewick, WA 99336.
George played an important role in our family as Scoutmaster while our son Jeff was in scouts. We have many fond memories of camping trips with George, including fishing holes at Rock Lake and trails at Alder Creek.
Marj and family, George is at pease and out of pain now. We knew him and the other George thru Scouts. It is so very hard to let a loved one go haveing lost both my parents and son in the last 3 years you just have to pick up the memories and never forget them.
God bless you all

When George and I were married, we had a lot of fun times. Took a bunch of trips to Canada, some more fun than others. George, I will miss you, may you rest in peace.
Dad-
The memories that I have will outshine the loss and our life without you. You are my hero and Mike and Blake will never forget the wisdom and fun times. We love you and will always be with us.
Love
Mike, Valerie, Blake & Ashley
On behalf of the Holt family, from Silverdale, our deepest sympathy to the Petrina family in the loss of young George. We have fond memories of the “Variety Store” that was a Petrina-Hudson landmark. I’m sure this era was the point we met George, Jr. At that time we all knew everyone in Silverdale, fondly. Our prayers are with you, all. Sincerely, the Holt family
Growing up on the Silverdale waterfront, George and I were best friends and we shared many of life’s experieinces. He was my “Best Man” when I married, and I was his. Thank you Mr/Mrs Petrina for including me in your family and all the fun we shared. We are praying for your comfort in this loss. Denny
To George’s Family: We all have very fond memories of George. He was a wonderful person. He was always happy and upbeat with a big smile on his face. He will be missed!
