On May 11, 2005, Gertrude Nerine Apgar Trudy went home to be with her Lord. She also rejoined her beloved husband, Chase Apgar, her daughter, Sandra Dean and grandson, Derek Dean, her parents, siblings and many loved ones who passed before. Trudy lived in West Richland for the past 59 years in the home she and Chase built on a barren sand dune. Her family remembers her as the best cook any of us ever knew. She loved to decorate her home; she was an excellent seamstress; her heart and pocketbook were always open to those in need. Her Bible was her constant companion.
She is survived by four of her children, Stephen Apgar Ruth; Camille Keyes, Phyllis Morris Tom and Philip Apgar together with numerous loving grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Our Mom and Grandma deeply loved her family. . . and fortunately for some of us, she was quick to forgive. She was kind and generous to all whose lives she touched. We are fortunate to have been a part of her life and to experience her devotion.
We will miss you, Granny. Graveside services will be held at 2:00 PM Friday, May 13, 2005 at Sunset Memorial Gardens, Richland. Einan’s Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
