Some of my memories are in meeting for the first time, Jerry displayed a huge smile, friendliness and a good nature that removed any barriers of discomfort that often accompanies first meetings. Although I have only known Jerry a short time in comparison to a lifetime, it has felt like he was a good friend for a very long time.
I always enjoyed our chats over the back fence where we exchanged some good fishing stories and exercised our sense of humor over some of our catches or lack thereof. Occasionally we would crack a good joke that we had heard and have a good laugh.
In our brief time together I learned that Jerry was a brave man who was not afraid of hard work, tough challenges or death. His wonderful sense of humor, good nature and big smile persevered to the last days of his life, as we know it here on earth. He is a fine example for others to follow. I will miss him greatly.
