From Richland, WA, US | Born in Rocky Mount, Virginia
Betty T. Kroll
Betty T. Kroll was called home by her Heavenly Father on October 3, 2005. Betty was born on March 20, 1927 and passed away after open-heart surgery. Betty was a devoted servant of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ and the heart that He gave her was one of compassion, kindness and generosity.
She was an active member of Redeemer Lutheran Church for many years and also served as president of the Tri-City Lutheran Women for numerous terms.
As a young woman, Betty attended San Francisco State Teachers College and Bemidji State University where she studied pre-medicine. She was a principal of an elementary school in Minnesota while her husband, Bud Kroll, finished college. She was also a substitute teacher for Richland Public Schools.
In life Betty enjoyed gardening, traveling to Arizona in the winter with her husband, and spending time with her family, who will desperately miss the love she so generously bestowed upon them.
Her son, Lanny and family in Virginia preceded Betty in death. She is survived by her husband of 57 years, Bud Kroll; daughter and son-in-law Millie and Steve Hill of Spokane, WA; son Dan Kroll; son and daughter-in-law Malcolm and Bev Kroll; son and daughter-in-law Ben and Gail Kroll, all of Richland. She had 8 grandchildren: Amy Harshman and husband Doug of Spokane; Jason Hill of San Diego, CA; Andy Hill, Spokane, WA; Jared Kroll, Bryce Kroll, Grant Kroll, Kaylee Kroll and Taylor Kroll, all of Richland. She also had 2 great-grandchildren, Jonah Harshman and Trayton Hill.
Services to celebrate Bettys home going are planned for Saturday, October 8, 2005. The 1:30 PM graveside service will be at Resthaven Cemetery, located at 700 Williams Avenue, followed by a 2:30 memorial service at Redeemer Lutheran Church, 520 Thayer Drive, Richland. Viewing will be 5:00-8:00 PM Friday, October 7th at Einans Funeral Home, Richland.
Memorials may be made to Redeemer Lutheran Church Memorial Fund in memory of Betty T. Kroll.
Our dear mother has gone to live with her Heavenly Father. Her weak heart was the leading factor in her passing. As I think about this it occurs to me that this physical weakness was her spirital strength. Our Mother’s heart was focused on giving love as Christ asks us all to do. She was an exemplary Christian who lived her beliefs.
So…
“Gone is a mother loved by all,
Her soul is now at rest.
She’ll sleep in peace, her work is done.
A mother’s work—the best.
She’ll know the joy of perfect rest
In heaven up above,
Where she may dwell contentedly
Protected by God’s love.
Our hearts may grieve that she must lie
Beneath the sacred sod,
And yet we know she lives in peace
Within the house of God.”
I Love you Mom, and my heartaches for you, but you belong to God now and that helps calms my anguished thoughts.
Your devoted daughter,
Millie
Our thoughts and prayers are with you in this time of Rememberance.
To my dear sister:
A wife, A mother and A friend
A Sister dear we mourn her loss
She’s gone where life will never end
Where joy is free from every cross
Your loving Brother,
Dalton Taylor & Family
Dear Bud, Yes, Betty is smiling now being home where she is safe and without pain. We go back about fifty years in our friendship; how wonderful to have such God-loving years of association. We’ll always recall our visit to your Arizona home-away-from-home. Though you and the family will have sadness, the numerous memories of family and friends will bring a smile to your face.
God’s hand is guiding each of you; what a wonderful blessing.
Fondly, Doreen & Gene
Our heart’s and prayer’s go out to the Kroll Family
Dearest Bud and Family, -The Lord has taken your beautiful Betty home to be with Him. How beautiful and precious she was, and always will be to me. To know her and to know you, Bud, has been a blessing to me. Our Lord blesses us so that we can be a blessing to others. He has blessed you and Betty with His precious gifts of love, caring and concern for other people. I believe you and Betty have lived lives of service to our Lord Jesus. That is a great blessing. He will comfort you now with His Love and His Presence. I pray continually for you and your family. I miss Betty. She was so very special and loving; and beautiful. We love you. Jim and Nancy
Your family is in our thoughts and prayers. May God grant your family peace and joy in your remembrance.
Dear Uncle Bud and Family,
I was sorry to hear about Betty’s passing, but she is definitely in a lot better place and you will see her again one day. She is up in heaven with my husband Rodney Spicer. She will be missed by all of us that were left behind.
Love, Jennifer Spicer
I was a neighbor of the Bud and Betty Kroll family since I was 1 year old. I went to the same gradeschool in the same class as Malcom and we became very good freinds at the age of about 15. Since them I spent a lot of time with the Krolls and basically became good freinds with all of the family including the extended family. I went to college with Ben. I was invited to their cabin many times and share many memories with them. Betty I know her better as Mrs. Kroll because I’ve always had respect for her was always very nice. That’s the best way to describe her. Very nice. She would always engage in conversation with with when I came over or when I met her out in town. She honestly cared about me this was easy to tell. When I had cancer at the age of 18 and then again at 21 and had to have radiation and chemotherapy she seemed to understand what I was going through probably better than I did at the time and would talk to me about it in an easy way that helped me. I will miss her honest niceness. I know her influence will live on in her large family and I will continue to enjoy her through my freindship with them.
Our hugs are with you today. Know that the memories are with you every day. Love Trudy and Art
To my beloved Aunt,
She was allways there when I needed her. With all my love.

To all the family of Betty,
We are sorry to hear that Betty passed away. I know she’ll be missed by all of you. I also know, however, that this separation is only temporary for all who know Jesus Christ as their Savior. We can rest assured in this that where Betty is now is where we all long to be. God bless each of you and may you find comfort in Him.

Dear Bud,
It’s been a long time since I’ve lived in Richland, but I do remember fondly of Betty and your family. It was a joy to see her at Kathy and Marty’ls 30th anniversary party in Kennewick after so long. She is now with our heavenly Father. All pain and sorrows are gone and instead there is everlasting joy! Praise God!
