From Lake, Charles, LA, US | Born in Lake Charles, Louisiana
Richard ”Ricky” Joseph Mancuso
Richard Ricky J. Mancuso
On Sunday, October 9, 2005, our heavenly father called Ricky to his side. Ricky was born October 31, 1970 in Lake Charles, LA. He moved to Washington with his family in 1982.
Ricky is survived by his mother, Karen Mancuso of Kennewick; father, Craig Mancuso of Lake Charles, LA; sister, Kristi Wildung of Pullman, WA; brothers, Jeremy Mancuso of Lake Charles, LA and Ryan Kynaston of Kennewick; and grandmother, Mary Mancuso of Lake Charles, LA. In addition, he will be truly missed by his many aunts, uncles and cousins, his nieces Makenna, Claire and Makayla, and his nephew Ben. He was preceded in death by his sister Stacy Mancuso, his maternal grandparents Lee and Laverne Gunlock, and paternal grandfather Alphonse Mancuso.
Ricky graduated from Kamiakin High School in 1989 and attended Spokane Falls Community College. He worked for Pepsi in the Tri-Cities for six years before he moved back to Lake Charles, LA. He entered an apprentice program for pipe fitters and welders and was finally able to purchase his first race car, one of his life-long dreams. He spent the spring and summer of 2005 living his dream of racing with his dad.
Ricky, the sun has dimmed with your absence. Your love, compassion, and loyalty, not only to your family but also to everyones life you touched, will never be forgotten. Second to that love for us was your love for baseball. You played baseball all your life; baseball was your life. Your numerous awards, your crowd-pleasing pitches and your willingness to help others understand and play the game made us all so proud of you. We will never be able to watch another game without thinking of you.
Ricky, we know there was a part of you missing after Stacy died. Every time you raced you said she was your co-pilot. We all know she was your co-pilot on that fateful Sunday. She took your hand and led you to your final home. We have peace knowing that each time we look up at the stars, well have two guardian angels watching over us. The happy, precious memories we have shared through the years will be held close to our hearts and treasured for the remainder of our lives.
A gathering for friends and family will be held at Einans Funeral Home on Saturday from 4:00-8:00 PM to share memories and say good-bye to Ricky. Please join us to celebrate Rickys life on Sunday, October 16, 2005 at 2:00 PM at Einans Chapel.
Ricky,
You were a great friend. I met you on the baseball field, your second home. We had great times together, here and at Spokane Falls. Some of my greatest memories were made with you. Your family treated me like one of their own. I could go on forever. You will always be in my heart. You were just like my brother. I can’t wait to see you in heaven. I love you Rick. God Bless you and all your family. My deepest condolences to your family.
I remember when I first met Ricky, we were playing little league for Pete`s Sport Shop. He was the smallest kid on our team, but had the biggest heart. He was so easy to like, just a new kid with that southern drawl and big smile Tanner!
Not only were you a friend, you were like a brother. Your family had been so helpful when I needed it most. I can`t express in words what you and Karen “Mom” meant to all of us.
There are so many years of memories I will never forget. I regret losing touch with you Rick!!! You will be missed!!!!

I will never forget Ricky, he made me laugh, and he made me always feel like a part of the family. I inherited Ricky into my life when I married his best friend Aaron, he was always around us and my family during that time and I will always remember all the good times we had, he is in my thoughts and prayers. May he be with our Lord and savior Jesus Christ.
my condolences to you karen and family.
My thought and prayers are with Ricky’s family and friends. God is now blessed with a special person and a great team mate. I will always remember his smile and him saying, “who loves you baby?” Ricky does…
Dear Karen,
What I remember most about Ricky was his Love and compasion for his family and his great sense of humor.
I am so sorry for the pain you and your family are going through.
Our thoughts and prayers are with you.
Love
Gina Krasner
My thoughts and prayers go out to Karen and the rest of the family.
I still remember my first day at Desert Hills when I moved from Ca. I go into first period and see this guy on all fours crawling around in red Chuck Taylor high tops and he says to me “What’s up dude.” From that point on we shared a lot of great memories all the way through HS and even more so on the ball field. You will never be forgotten BIG GUY!

I met Ricky a long time ago back in 1987, he became a good friend and over time we lost touch. I saw Aaron a few months back and asked how Ricky was doing? We always seem to see people from our past when we least expect it. My deepest sympathies with your family. I will miss him. When we lose people around us, it makes us appreciate life that much better and what the world has to offer.
Thank you
Karen,
Being at Ricky’s memorial this weekend brought back a lot of memories. My childhood memories with Ricky will forever hold a special place in my heart. As I know first hand and was evident on Sunday, your son touched a lot of lives and I am blessed to have known him. God Bless you and your family. All my prayers go out to you.
Trisha
Dear Karen and family,
I wanted to let you know how sorry I am to hear about Ricky. Although I hadn’t seen him in so long I only have good memories about him and Stacy. You are all in my thoughts and prayers!
