John Elliott Pearson

John Elliott Pearson, 58, of Benton City, was born to G. Elliott and Patricia G. Fanning Pearson on March 24, 1947 in Aberdeen, Washington and died Thursday, November 11, 2005, at the Tri-Cities Chaplaincy Hospice House in Kennewick.

John served in the U. S. Navy.  He lived in the Tri-City area since 1991 where he grew wine grapes on Red Mountain.  He enjoyed fishing, traveling, family gatherings and vineyard functions, and Seahawk football games.

He was a member of the V.F.W., American Legion, Washington Association of Wine Grape Growers, the Laborers Union in Pasco, the Inland Boatman’s Union and the Tri-City Seahawks Fan Club.

John is survived by his wife, Barbara of Alaska and Benton City; daughter, Jona Hubbard of Moses Lake; son, Patrick Pearson of Benton City; grandson, Shannon Mikeal Hubbard of Moses Lake; mother, Patricia Pearson of Benton City and Aberdeen, WA; brother, Larry Jane of Benton City; sisters, Trisha Pearson of Fairbanks, AK, Jacquie David Stephens of Benton City and Kathleen Montez of University Place, WA; nephews, Elliott, John and Nico Sulkosky, Jason and Jim Montez; nieces, Hillary and Ashley Fidler, Megan Mettler, Shari Siebert, Maggie Casey Halvarson and their daughter, Jasmine; and many other loving family members.

He was preceded in death by his father, Elliott Pearson, sister, Margaret Mettler, and nephew, Luke Sulkosky.

A vigil will be at the Tapteal Winery from noon to 3:00 p.m. Sunday, November 13, 2005.

In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to the American Diabetes Association.
