Mary Theresa Feuerborn

Mary Theresa Feuerborn, 79, lost a courageous battle with cancer, passing from this world into her eternal home in heaven on December 3, 2005. She died at home surrounded by her loving family.

Theresa was born in Milwaukie, Oregon on July 31, 1926. As a teenager, she worked in the berry fields with her family, where she met her future husband, Clyde A. Feuerborn. They were married in 1949 and shortly thereafter moved to Benton City, Washington where Clyde worked as a member of Plumbers and Steamfitters Local Union 598. Theresa’s most important job in life was being the mother to her seven children. She was first and foremost a wife and mother, entirely devoted to her family, raising her children to respect their elders and love one another, and her home was always warm and welcoming. Theresa’s unconditional love for her family is her living legacy. The family always enjoyed their times together. They often went camping, fishing, waterskiing, visiting relatives, and she dabbled in the garden. Mom was always proud of her elephant garlic, zucchini and big tomatoes she grew in her garden. She baked delicious zucchini bread which won her a blue ribbon at Benton City Daze.

The Catholic faith was an integral part of mom’s life. She was a devoted member and active volunteer of the St. Francis X. Cabrini Catholic Church for 52 years. She also was a member of the Church Altar Society, American Legion Auxiliary and the Red Hats Society. She loved playing cards and was always the first one to bring them out to play a little poker at the dining room table during the holidays. In her later years she developed a love of bingo and taking a regular trip to Legends Casino.

Theresa was preceded in death by her husband Clyde A. Feuerborn and infant daughter Baby Feuerborn; brothers: Bernard & Johnny; sisters: Tekla & Isabelle. She is survived by her beloved brothers Paul, Lawrence and Phil Muffenbier, son Edward and wife Marcey Feuerborn of Corvallis, OR, son Joseph Feuerborn of West Richland, WA, daughter Angela and husband Mark Johnson of Kennewick, WA, daughter Sandy and husband Jack Weissner of Rocklin, CA, daughter Rose and husband Wally Rutherford of Richland, WA, daughter Suzanne and husband Jerry Norris of Roseville, CA, and daughter Patty and husband Kevin Ensign of Kennewick, WA; eighteen grandchildren, and 3 great grandchildren.

Theresa leaves behind a legacy of love and joy for family and friends. She had a zest for life, witty humor and a heart of gold. She will live forever in our hearts, and will be greatly missed. To her family she will be remembered as a great wife, mother, and grandma. Mom- Love you lots and thanks so much!!

A rosary will be held at St. Francis X. Cabrini Catholic Church in Benton City on Wednesday, December 7, 2005 at 7:00 p.m. A funeral mass will be held on Thursday, December 8, 2005 at 2:00 p.m., St. Francis X. Cabrini Catholic Church in Benton City with procession to the gravesite.

The family wants to give a heartfelt thank-you to the staff at Hospice. In lieu of flowers, Theresa requested donations be made to the St. Jude Children’s Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis TN 38501: 1-800-785-1362.
