Sharon Lee Holden
Sharon passed on to a more peaceful place on February 25, 2006 at the age of 69 after battling complications from Diabetes and Kidney failure. She was born to Morris and Elton Henderson on August 29, 1936 in Torrington, Wyoming. Her family moved to Richland in the 40's where she met a young boy named Don Holden in the 4th grade who would later become her beloved husband of more than 50 years. Both families later moved to Pasco where she and Don graduated from Pasco High in 1954. They were married on April 3, 1955. In 1976 they moved to Ephrata, WA with their 4 children where they owned Holden's Burger Hut and then built Holden's Pizza Extravaganza in 1978 which they operated until 1994. At that time they moved to Vashon Island and managed Vashon Manor/Terrace Apartments. In February 2000 Sharon suffered a stroke which left her partially immobile on her left side. In the fall of 2002 Don and Sharon moved back to the Tri-Cities and Sharon became a resident of Life Care Center of Kennewick in 2004. Don and Sharon enjoyed traveling when they could get away from the Pizza Parlor and in their 50's, much to Sharon's discouragement, Don bought a Goldwing motorcycle. After much coaxing, Don was able to get her on the back of his new toy and then he couldn't get her off! Both were members of the Goldwing Road Riders Association Chapter S. They took several trips across the U.S. with friends, visiting the Smoky Mountains as well as attending numerous GWRRA rallies. Sharon is survived by her loving husband Don Holden, mother Elton Henderson, daughters Cathy Ruff of Ephrata, Wendy Holden of Richland, sons Don Holden Jr. Kathleen of Pasco and Todd Holden Linda of Quincy, WA. Brothers Clark Henderson Cheri of Pasco, Gary Henderson Betty of Kennewick, and sister Mary Aspen of Seattle. Grandkids include Jason Holden and Keisha Ruff Cathy's, Brittny Holden Wendy's, Eric, Brent, Jeremy, Seth Don Jr. and step-grandchildren Justo, Tino, Julian, Marcos and Victoria Rubio Todd and many nieces, nephews and cousins. She was preceded in death by her father Morris Henderson. One of our mothers favorite sayings as we were growing up was a quote from the movie Bambi - ''If you can't say anything nice, then don't say anything at all'' - something we should all live by. Rest in peace mom, we love you. Funeral services will be held on Thursday, March 2nd at 1 p.m. at Einan's Funeral Home Hwy 240 & Swift Blvd. Richland, WA with burial to follow.
