Julie Ann Britt
12/02/1971 — 08/25/2006
From Pasco, WA, US | Born in Richland, Washington
Julie Ann Britt
Julie Ann Britt, 34, of Pasco passed away August 25, 2006 in Kennewick. She was born December 2, 1971 in Richland and lived her entire life in the Tri-Cities. Julie worked as a Contract Administrator for Parsons Technology Development and Fabrication Complex and was a member of the United Pentecostal Church.
Survivors include daughter Kaitlyn Britt and son Connor Britt; parents Carl and Lois Petty; brother Dave Petty.
Julie was such a wonderful baby, at three years of age she was a complete chatterbox and would repeat everything you said. She would even repeat very big words. In her adolescent years, she took piano lessons and could play by ear. We had to tell the piano teacher not to play the tune for her because she would just remember it and not learn the notes from the sheet music. In her early adulthood, Julie started working for Parsons at the age of 18. She was a very hard worker, and made it her personal goal to please everyone. As seen in the next few lines from fellow Parsons coworkers, Julie was truly beloved at her company. Julie's constant positive outlook always boosted morale at Parsons even when business prospects were bleak. Her wide circle of friends in the tri cities opened doors for business development contacts and kept them open through her outstanding relations with clients and coworkers. New clients soon became new friends. When fellow employees left or had major family events to celebrate, Julie was always there to organize a celebration in a positive way. Many employees left and returned because they just wanted to work in the Parsons office. She never turned down a new work assignment even if far from her experience. This led to new skills and an expanded value to the business. Clients frequently tried to steal her away, but her inherent loyalty led her to stay.
She had a multitude of friends throughout high school, at church and at work. She always had a smile for everyone she met. Julie was a pure professional, at work and at home, she shone as a bright star among her peers and was loved and adored by her children. Julie was a goddess among goddesses, we shall love her always and miss her dearly.
Services will be held at 1:00 PM on Friday, September 1, 2006, at Faith Assembly Christian Center, Pasco, with interment will follow at Sunset Memorial Gardens, Richland. Viewing will be Thursday, August 31st from 5:00-8:00 PM at Einans Funeral Home, Richland.
A memorial fund has been established for the children with the Bank of America, the ''Britt Children Assistance and Education Fund.'' Donations can be made at any Bank of America Bank branch. Donations may also be sent to Parsons Technology Development and Fabrication Complex, Attn: Human Resources, 3005 E Ainsworth, Pasco, WA. 99301.
To the family of Julie Britt, I share your sorrow as we will all miss her bright smile and enjoyment of life! Julie and I worked together, and I shared my love of contracting with her. She was eager to learn, and so very easy to teach. My fondest memories is our regular lunches together, which was our time away from work to enjoy each other as friends. I will never forget Julie, as I will treasure her friendship!
Much Aloha, Diane & Mike McHugh

Dear friends and family of Julie, It was my honor to have met Julie through the NCMA Leadership Development Program. She was more than just a fellow program participant, she was also a great friend and co-worker that had inspired me in many ways. Above all, she was a wonderful mother and I hope her children can forever cherish happy memories of her in their lives. I will miss her greatly. My sincere condolences to the family and friends.

My thoughts and prayers are with Julies family, friends, and co-workers. As Secretary of the Columbia Basin Chapter of NCMA, Julie brought a ray of sunshine to our meetings and was eager to support the Chapter and the contracting profession. I had an opportunity to get to know Julie better at the NCMA Leadership Summit we attended when she began her participation in the NCMA Leadership Development Program. She was so full of ideas and excitement, with plans for Chapter activities and her professional development. Our community has suffered a great loss with her passing and she will be missed. I hope her children and family find some comfort in their memories of this lovely, loving young woman.
Barbara Herod
President, NCMA Columbia Basin Chapter
I am so sorry to hear about the passing of Julie. We worked together when I was at Parsons on the Blue Grass project. She was always upbeat and so lovingly spoke about her children.
She will be missed by many.
To Lois,
Our hearts ache along with yours, and the children. We can’t imagine the hurt and betrayal you must be feeling now. May God be with you during this most diffult time, we know you are a “trooper”.
We were glad to get to meet Julie for the first & only time about 1 1/2 years ago when we were all waiting for our boarding time at the Pasco Airport.
May the Good Lord help you find something good that might come through this terrible tragedy & may HE strenghten you for the days that lie ahead and comfort you & the kids with HIS loving arms that are wrapped around you all.
Love & Prayers,
Steve & Susan McDonald

Thank You to all who knew and loved Julie, She will always be my girl. I will miss her greatly. But she is in my heart. Her children, my grandchildren are her living memorial. By God’s strength we will make it through this great tragedy. She was a loving daughter and sister, very talented musically, and a true professional. Words can not express the love and friendship she had for everyone. Thank you all for your prayers, thoughts, and support. Lois Petty
Dear Lois, Oh how our hearts ache for you. I know this is such a hard thing to deal with and so extensive of an undertaking, but for all the hard chores ahead, the blessings will be when you look in the faces of those precious children. Our love and prayers are yours, if we can do anything to help, let us know. Keep your chin up and your eyes on our savior and he will be your strength. You can be very proud of the beautiful woman Julie had become. Such kind words have been said and that brings comfort. Call me and we can do lunch when the time comes for you to have a breather, we love you, Janis
I am so sorry for your loss. I got to know Julie a couple of years ago through NCMA and always enjoyed her. She honored me recently asking me to be her mentor in the NCMA Leadership Development Program. I was perplexed–why me??–but very flattered. Through this program, I was looking forward to getting to know Julie better. In fact, we communicated on Thursday about having lunch the next week. The honor of her request of me is something I treasure.
I find comfort in knowing that Julie is with the Lord and that the Lord was not caught off guard by anything that happened. My thoughts and prayers are with you and Julie’s children.

I met Julie at the NCMA Leadership Summit at the end of June. I am so sorry to hear of your terrible loss. Your family is in my thoughts and prayers.
Julie was an incredible work associate. I spent many years in contracts working with Julie as a resource to the Office of River Protection. She was highly regarded, a joy to talk with, and always sought out by all who knew her. She leaves a huge void in our lives.
Julie was such a great person to know. I always looked forward to hearing her sing at church. She will be missed by all. My prayers will go out for all her family and her 2 children. God bless .
We are very sorry to hear about Julie and would like to express our condolences. We didn’t get a chance to know her very well, but the few times that they came to our house, we really liked her and thought her to be very sweet. Our son Keith was Dougs best friend throughout Junior high and High school. They joined the National Guard together, and we knew him like a son. Again our deepest sympathy to the family. Dennis and Gay and Family
I was so sorry to hear of Julie’s passing and would like to express my sincere condolences. I met Julie at the Leadership Summit this past June. I was so impressed with her professionalism, warmth and charm. In a very short time, she touched the hearts of all her colleagues in NCMA. We miss her smile.

My heartfelt sympathy to Julie’s family for your great loss.
I cannot express the level of my sympathy in adequate words regarding the loss of Julie. I worked with Julie In Pasco and was so very impressed with her as a friend and coworker. Later when I moved to Tacoma to take on a new job assignment for Parsons we needed help. I contacted Julie and in her usual way she came over to support our staff. Our Contracts Department felt that Julie was their saviour since her expertise lead them through a very difficult transition. Julie will always be remembered by me as one of the most thoughtful, caring individuals that I have ever known. I will always miss her.
Judy Andersen,
HR Director

NCMA’s Leadership Development Program is how I met Julie just two short months ago, and I was deeply sorry to hear of this tragic loss. My prayers are with your family.
