Agnes Cecelia Prendergast
In Memory Of: Agnes Prendergast Vonnie, born July 25, 1921 in Anaconda, Montana to Patrick and Mary Vaughn, passed away on September 9, 2006 surrounded by her family, while in the loving and caring hands of Peace of Mind assisted living in Richland Washington.
In 1939 Agnes graduated from Central High School in Anaconda. After graduation she worked at Woolworth's department store and later at Shirley's grocery store.
Agnes loved spending time with family and friends. She cherished her walks through Washoe Park with longtime friend Fran Sally and the back yard cookouts and picnics at Lost Creek with the Lee family. Ty and Annie Lee were treasured by Agnes; their three children Tom, Patsy and Bill were loved as if they were her own. Before moving to Richland Washington in 1999, Agnes's passion was family. She loved spending time with her daughter, nieces, nephews, grandchildren, great-grandson and great-nieces and -nephews. In 1999 Agnes was blessed again with a great-grandson and one more to follow in 2004. In 2006 her namesake and the first great-granddaughter was born, Vonnie.
Agnes was a special person who only comes around once, and will be missed by all whom she touched.
Agnes was preceded in death by her parents Patrick and Mary Vaughn; brothers: Jim, Pat and Coleman Vaughn; sisters: Kathleen Hebert, Margie Vaughn; and infant son Michael Prendergast.
Agnes will be missed and memories treasured by daughter and son-in-law Peggy and Ron Simkins; grandchildren Stacey and Victor Na Varre, Scott Simkins and Heather and Kit Shaughnessy; nephew Shamus ''Jim'' Vaughn; niece and spouse Mary Jean and Terry Ferguson; nephews and spouses Terry and Barbara Vaughn, Kevin and Karen Vaughn and niece Kathy Vaughn; great-grandchildren Coleman, Ty, Amanda and Amelia Na Varre, Jack and Vonnie Shaughnessy; great-nephews and -nieces Ryan and Shannon Vaughn, Casey, Sam and Neil Ferguson, Colette and Katie Vaughn.
Memorial services will be held at 10:30 AM Thursday, September 14, 2006 at St Peters Church in Anaconda Montana. Inurnment will follow at Mt. Olivet Cemetery, also in Anaconda.
