In Loving Memory of Gladys Marie Huff
Gladys M. Huff, daughter of Adam Ralph and Emma Lorentz Versch, was born August 1, 1919, in Culbertson, NB. She passed away at Eagle Assisted Living in Richland, WA on September 19, 2006, at the age of 87.
Gladys married Robert L. Huff on February 15, 1947, in Denver, CO. In 1954 the couple moved to Richland, WA, and their marriage was blessed with 9 children who they raised in the Catholic Faith through Christ the King Church. For 56 years, Gladys and Robert were devoted to each other in the marriage that ended with his passing in October 2001. During this time Gladys and Robert helped organize Radiant Life the first 24 hour Christian TV station in the tri-city area.
Gladys relished being the mother of a large brood. She was very actively involved with her childrens activities, and enjoyed many roles such as den mother, talent developer, the Church YLI annual luau coordinator, to name a few. In her household life was never dull, and there was no doubt who was the boss she raised her kids with a frying pan in one hand and a camera in the other. The neighborhood kids all knew they had a friend in Gladys and that they would be welcome to join the troupe of 9 kids at the Huff table.
Gladys was the last surviving member of the Ralph and Emma Versch family. Two of her own immediate family members preceded her in death: her beloved husband Robert and her son Kevin.
Gladys is survived by her eight 8 children:
Garland and his wife Shelly Huff of Kennewick, WA Gregg Huff of Sedro Woolley, WA. Renée and her husband Trond Bjornard of Idaho Falls, ID. Sandy and her husband Dan Rind of Everett, WA. Jody and his wife Shari of West Richland, WA Valerie and her husband Ken Bragg of Richland, WA. Jeff Huff of Los Angles, CA Rodney Huff of Bothell, WA.
She is also survived by 23 grandchildren and 2 great-grandchildren.
Gladys is reunited with her husband Bob and their son Kevin.
Memorial mass will be celebrated at 11:00 AM Saturday, September 23, 2006 at Christ the King Catholic Church, Richland, following a 10:00 AM interment at Sunset Memorial Gardens, Richland. Recitation of the Holy Rosary will take place at 6:00 PM Friday, September 22, 2006 at Einans Funeral Home, Richland. Viewing will be 5:00-8:00 PM Friday, also at Einans.
My Mother and Dad were good friends with Gladys and Robert. Growing up I alway remember Gladys coming over for coffee with mom Mary Lytle . They’d sit for hours chatting & laughing. Oh the hysterical laughing!!
I was so glad I saw Gladys at church Sat. Sept. 16th. She gave me the biggest hug and said she would be seeing my Mom and Daddy soon. I was glad I could tell her I love her and the sweet memories of growing up around such a wonderful Lady. She was truly a Lady in every sense of the word. God Bless you all and know my prayers are with you.
Dearest Beloved and Beautiful Family of Bob and Gladys Huff:
I had the honer and privledge to know Bob and Gladys as friends and spiritual advisors. I will always remember the spirit of happiness that Gladys always radiated. They were truely good salt of the earth people who loved with all their heart. I will donate to the Radiant Light Broadcasting in their names as a memory of what they started to last in the Eastern Washington communities. With all my love, Dante L. Montoya

DEAR HUFF CLAN, My heart goes out to you all. I have many fond memories of being neighbors and friends so many years ago. I also celebrate our families’ friendships that have continued through these many years. I know my parents enjoyed both your parents a great deal and will certainly experience a hole in their lives with Gladys’s passing. I celebrate her life of spent living joyously and at times outrageously! and with the love for and from her family.
sincerely yours in grief,
Carole Vandenberg Siefken
