Peggy Ann Claghorn
Peggy Ann Claghorn passed away Thursday, September 21 in her home in West Richland. She was 49 years old. She was born on January 31ST, 1957 to Charles and Katherine Kyger. She grew up in Albuquerque, NM, and was a member of Annunciation Catholic Church where she met her husband of 25 years. While in Albuquerque, she was president of the Legion of Mary, a youth organization dedicated to the Rosary and to the service of the severely disabled and elderly.
Peggy and her husband later moved to West Richland, Washington to start a family in the ideal setting. She earned her associate degree in nursing from Columbia Basin College in 1984, just after the birth of their first child.
Her family was her greatest joy in life, and she lived to care for others. Peggy was a dedicated nurse who worked at places such as Lourdes Counseling Center, Nueva Esperanza, and the Tri-City Chaplaincy. She attended Christ the King Catholic Church where she had been active as a religious education teacher, a LIFETEEN core member, and in the visitation ministries. She volunteered at Tapteal Elementary and was team mother for Little League, Babe Ruth, and Hanford baseball teams. She loved to watch her children thrive at Hanford High and participate in the school's drama program.
She is survived by her parents, her husband Ron, her three children Katherine, 22 Kristina, 20 and Gerald, 18; her brothers Kevin and David Kyger and her sister Mary Kay Hatfield. A Rosary Vigil and viewing will be held at 7 PM on Tuesday, September 26th, followed by the funeral service at 10 AM on Wednesday September 27th, both at Christ the King Church in Richland. Donations can be made in lieu of flowers to the Tri-City Chaplaincy at 2108 West Entiat, Kennewick, WA 99336.
How do you measure a lifetime of love?
I am deeply sorry for your loss. Though we haven’t seen Peggy in years, when we get together with Gary, Tony and the rest of the gang we always think of her. We will keep you in our prayers
To Ron, kids and the Kyger family. It was an honor and a joy to share in a part of Peggy’s life, she was one of the kindest people I have ever met. I have many fond memories of her, she was such a giving person. She has a special place in my heart.

Even though we have been away for 18 years you are in our hearts. The Claghorns were good friends and we have good memories of all we did together. We still have on our walls some pictures from those great times. In this difficult time our hearts and prayers are with you.
God bless you.
René, Lourdes, and Lourdita
Though I have not seen Peggy in many years. I will always remember the times when we were growing up, the group of friends that would meet at her house and talk for hours on end. The bantering back and forth between good friends was always humorous. Peggy was a kind and giving person, she will always be remembered.
With deepest sympathy
Fred
My condolences go out to your family at this time of loss. Peggy and I first connected while volunteering at Tapteal. We then worked together at Lourdes Counseling Center. I saw first hand her sense of caring and compassion for others. Even after we went separate directions it was always refreshing to run into her for a friendly chat. She was a wonderful person and will be missed. My thoughts and prayers are with your family.
Melinda
